I'm writing a fanfic as part of an art trade with a friend. I'm having some trouble with it. The basic plot of the story is Captain Cold gets hurt in an accident during a fight with the Flash. Barry brings him some ice cream that evening and has a flashback to a time when Snart gets hurt during a Legends mission because of him and starts having a panic attack, Snart calming him down.
Here's the problem I'm having. I start off with Barry bringing the ice cream and remembering the recent fight before proceeding to remember the Legends mission and freaking out. Which part do I write in full and which one do I just describe with little flashbacks?
I'm leaning towards the second one for just tidbits as I can keep the focus on Barry's panic attack, but I'm not totally sure if that's the right thing to do. Any advice or ideas?
