Splintered Spear (SU) Wood Elemental Feat Help

Advice

Hello!

I was curious if there is a way to make the Wizard Word Elemental School SU Of Splintered Spear better.

I am going into the 3rd level and use this ability a lot, but would like to make it better if possible. Any feats that could help this? And I am not looking for ones that give me more uses.

Thanks in advance.

It's already pretty good as an opening move, but aside from Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot there isn't a lot to do for it. Since it's a (Su) ability it's a standard action. You can't even try to full-attack with it.

I'm playing a wood element wizard at the moment & I really wish I'd taken point blank shot and precise shot. Far shot would also be handy for it but would have less general use.

The fox's cunning spell helps, obviously.

I feel so dumb... why did I not think about PBS or Precise Shot.

I also was doing some looking through and Deadly Aim would also be a good option.

If you're going for eldritch knight then opening volley might have some use.

Especially if you're not deadly aim might not be so useful - you're a 1/2 BAB character, you don't have attack bonus to burn.

How far are you into playing this character, what level are you?

How if you are higher level, how good does this ability stay as you level? Does it eventually plateau and then drop?

He's just 3rd level at the mo, same as you, though 4th is just around the corner. He's here if you want to see his character details.

2 levels of ninja would get you Sneak Attack and swift action vanish, which gives some nice bonuses to hitting people.

As nice as this does sound, I do not want to take the hit on the Wizard casting.

Yuelral's Blessing:
(Champions of Purity pg. 27 (Amazon)): You cast any spells that appear on both the wizard and druid spell lists at +1 caster level and with +1 to the save DC. In addition, you may replace the material component of any arcane spell with gems of the same value. You must be at least a 5th-level wizard to select this discovery.

^ This is very cool. One question. The Wood Elemental School adds spells to the wizards spell list. If those are druid spells, but don’t say wizard in the spell details, are they considered on the wizard spell list because the specific school added it?

Example: Entangle

Sorry, forgot about this thread and it slipped down the list.

IMO Yuelral's blessing would apply to your wizard's spell list as a wizard, not the generic wizard list. There's room for disagreement though.

No worries. Been talking to the GM about this one and we’ve agreed that it would count to those spells. I haven’t looked into the future far enough, but are there a good amount of spells that this would apply to for it to be worth taking?

Enough, I think. It's better but more narrow than a spell focus feat. I don't mind being pushed towards a bunch of spells with a druidic flavour for Torsten.

Some examples: entangle, aqueous orb, shifting sand, dispel magic, caustic blood, baleful polymorph, plus a bunch of utility spells.

Wrote those spells down. They are some great ones. I will do a search after this but with Shifing Sand the area says 20-foot spread. I have never heard of that before.

Here is a Reddit post for a Yuelral’s Blessing Spell List that is worth checking out. I noticed it does not have the spells added from the Wood Elemental school, but still cool nonetheless
