Witch Scar Hex and buffs

Rules Questions

If i understand correctly, there is nothing that prevents a Witch from making small unnoticable ritual scars on the party members as symbols of friendship and then use her Healing/Fortune/Ward hexes from mile away if needed?

That should work fine, so long as the witch has a high enough Intelligence bonus to maintain that many scars.

Handy for ward due to its duration and wording; less handy for healing and fortune since the witch needs a separate avenue of information to know when best to use her hex.

Yep! Throw in a casting or two of Status if you can access your friends for a quick touch spell before they run off on you, so you'll know if they're injured and might need a long-range Healing or some Fortune.

The fluff does say it is horrible scars of the witch's choosing, not nice friendly scars.

It wouldn't bother me to use it as you describe, but I could imagine some GMs legitimately saying they have to be ugly and fairly visible.

I see, thanks!

Fluff is anything from a letter on the forehead to blotchy marks all over their body. I had a witch that usually hid them as cuts on the bottom of feet, except for the time she left a set of canine teeth marks on the guy's butt. (Bard that made the poor choice of saying "to mark him anywhere but the face.")

My Winter Witch causes part of the target's hair to turn white. If they don't have hair, they just get a big snowflake shaped blotch on their head.
