Not sure if there is a specific ruling on this, but could a Drow become a Mystic with the Star Shaman connection? I mean how would you function with turning to light, even shedding just normal light (which acts as bright light) with the whole "Light Blindness" property of the race? Any thoughts or recollections that might help explain if this is possible?
They burn their retinas. Probably a bad idea to work against the system.
The light is only there when you turn it on, unless I missed something. You could just, not turn it on. Personally, that ability wasn't really a wow factor for me when looking at the connection, compared to some of the others.
They could replace their eyes with normal cyber or bio eyes that grant darkvision 60ft. There isn't a ruling that says that they'd lose their light blindness, but I'd certainly house rule it that way if someone was willing to spend 1750cr on a augmentation that literally gave them nothing otherwise.
But also, the ability in question says that you literally turn yourself into starlight. A generous DM could rule that while in starlight form, you are no longer a drow, you're starlight, and therefore aren't subject to light blindness.
None of that's official, but those would be the arguments I would consider as a DM or player.

Agree with Pithica42, not seeing a reason you'd need to turn it on.
But as written, you'd gain an ability that would blind youself and other drow around you (which could have it's uses). I suggest the Blindfight Feat, if going this route.
Doesn't seem like a smart build, but if RPing a character that had no control over their powers, this could make for a fun character.
