Hi,
Probably being ultra thick, but can anyone confirm how Grishan Maldris' body is perfectly preserved? Understand about the Ph***** side of things, but didn't know that meant the body is preserved? Thanks in advance

Sovereign Court

This is a society adventure, not a module.

It’s also 3.5, so it’s a different ruleset.

I’ve not read it, so not that helpful, sorry.

Here is the original GM discussion thread for the scenario. You might find an answer there, or, even after all this time, you might get a response if you asked your question in that thread.

Grand Lodge 3/5

Short answer- the area was engulfed in necromantic magics.

Liberty's Edge 5/5 5/5 *** Venture-Lieutenant, Indiana—Martinsville

It is an early version of a very powerful haunt, or the remnants of the necromantic energies that plague the place after the disaster, take your pick. The scenario does have some explanation in the text of the scenario, but it is background more than rules crunch.

Silver Crusade 5/5 5/55/5 **** Venture-Captain, Germany—Bavaria

I haven't run it for a long time, but IIRC it is an old necropolis and those are often properly warded.
Of course being underground, close to the water, the salty air might have helped a bit.

In this case "perfectly preserved" might just mean that no bugs have gotten to him and that the environment slowed/stopped any serious degeneration.

Silver Crusade 5/5

How fitting to see thread necromancy in this thread of all places.
