Ive been working for a long time on re-skinning 4E for mass effect. Omni gel is a healing surge, and shields/armor down is bloodied. I found the strict roles of striker, leader, defender, controller translate quite well to ME. I didn't care for the paper, rock, scissors design for my fantasy purposes, but I find it can emulate the ME experience.

Problem is I have little demand for a game set in ME or for use of 4E. So its on the back 40 burner of my projects.

Not ragging on 4E, bt might your group b open to ME with a different system?

Sovereign Court

Unfortunately, I'm the only ME fan in my group :(

We currently use Traveller for our Sci-Fi RPG needs. So nobody is married to any particular system. In Traveller, our group tends to focus more on exploration and politics. Combat happens, of course, but it's fairly rare (aside from ship to ship combat) I expect a lot more personal and dynamic combat from ME, and thus find Traveller to be a poor system to use.

Got anything else in mind?

On and off I have brain stormed using Savage Worlds for ME.

Also, I have used Cypher system for ME. Probably not the neatest fit, but quite workable.
