I need help building this (THIS IS A CHALLENGE)

Advice

The goal of this is to build a good item crafter with full caster progression that can stay the hell out of melee. At the same time I really want class options and if possible a way to craft things very fast.

Race is Wrywood (Construct, Can't be healed by normal means).

The stat line is 16 13 12 13 17 10 The 10 is dropped because the Wrywood has no Con so the rest can be distributed as is needed.

Desired feats: Craft Construct, Craft Arms and Armor, Craft Wondrous Item, Craft Rod, Intensify spell.

Would like: Leadership, and maybe something to use Arms and Armor on.

Advice? Remember Wrywoods die at 0 HP and cannot be resurrected so staying the hell out of danger however since damage will happen finding a way to either mitigate or stop that damage is key.

Level?

Grand Lodge

Honestly straight wizard with the Conjuration (teleport) school special is best since you can get out immediate danger if needed and pick up the item crafting feats and have access to the Arcane builder discovery to craft 25% faster. You should pick up the skill focus feat in spellcraft to offset the -4 penalty to craft opposition schools. You'll get bonus feats to spend on crafting feats and metamagic which frees up your main feat. As an added bonus pick up the spark of creation trait to make magic items at 5% cheaper.

Nab the repair magic racial trait for some heals. As for schools, Conjuration for mage armor, always prep this in your free 1st level slot and never let it go. Illusion and Abjuration are you best friends, shield and mirror image will save your ass. You're not going to want to ban evocation to get access to the wall spells and the basic battle spells.

If you're not building into them I would choose Enchantment and Necromancy as opposition schools, Enchantment does have some nice battlefield control spells but you've got Conjuration for that, become a pit mage and put things in the hole.

Summon spells are your friend to draw away agro, provide flanking for your friends and just to fill up space so monsters can't charge you.

A valet familiar will help greatly with crafting quickly as well.

An arcanist could do this as well as a wizard, with dimensional slide to get out of trouble and perhaps the arcane barrier exploit to add temp HP; presumably you're planning on some charisma anyway if you're getting leadership. The twilight sage archetype improves the arcane barrier, and adds creepy flavour if you like that sort of thing. The occultist archetype of arcanist is good if summoning meatshields works for you.

You know twilight sage may be funny since the story element to this character is kinda a creepy Pinocchio. He doesn't so much want to be a real boy, since real boys are squishy and weak, but he would really like a soul. Depending on where the games goes he may figure its okay to take yours to see how it ticks.

Protector of the people is a nice option if your only taking craft arms and armor as a perquisite. Otherwise Djezzet skin unique armor is awesome for casters if you wanted to wear armor. Spark of creation is a pretty sweet trait since your doing so much crafting.

Arcanist and Wizard are both good for what you want. Arcanist is more flexible(quick study) and slippery(dimension slide) while wizard has faster spell progression and is easier to play at low levels. Both can end up with around the same number of bonus feats

Wizard. Maybe segue into Pathfinder Savant, if you're bored. *yawn*

Dark Archive

I would actually recommend Arcanist, as you can get extra crafting feats through exploits. Consider the following:

Traits - Propitiation; Eldritch Smith, Hedge Magician

Arcane Discovery - Arcane Builder

The Dwarven favored class bonus for wizard is pretty awesome for accelerating crafting, so perhaps you can finagle.

Deific Obedience for Torag grants the creation / fabrication spells

There are a few non-wizard options:

Occultist (Talisman Archetype) is gadget-heavy
Cleric (Forgemaster) has some very cool options

For your specific character, a Magus (Soulforger) could be really cool if you treat your body like your bonded object. Totally a one-off, "GM Call" kind of PC, but it could be pretty epic!

You would have to modify yourself to have some sort of natural attack before the Soulforger would pan out. Wyrwoods are really bad constructs in that they have no natural armor or attacks. If I was starting out 5th level + then yeah you could totally do it RAW but surviving to that point would be all kinds of ouch. I'm defiantly leaning towards flat Arcanist at the moment since I get the one free meta magic feat as well as the one free item crafting with the exploits. Also you can build them to be slippery as hell.
