Mercury Venus Earth Moon Mars Jupiter Saturn

Homebrew

This is an idea I've had. Starfinder versions of the planets or our Solar System. This is not our Solar System however, for one thing it has three stars and not one. Mercury, Venus, Earth, the Moon, and Mars get one star. I can squeeze them all within the life zone of one star, the star I modeled this after is Alpha Centauri A, it is of the same type G2 V, but it is 50% brighter, thus its life zone is further out and wider.
This one shows the stats for the Original Solar System and on the right, the modifications I've made for a science fantasy campaign:
Solar System A
Mercury has been made the Moon of Venus, both are habitable. Venus is a jungle/swamp planet with two main races, humans and lizardfolk, it is also a world of dinosaurs, it is a very primitive world, it is also a very wet world, it rains 50% of the time over its entire surface, the sky is overcast around 90% of the time, occasionally there is a break in the sky and a little patch of blue sky appears, sometimes the Sun peaks through. The goddess Aphrodite is in charge of this planet, she is a part of its "life support system" keeping it cloudy enough to reflect most of the sunlight back into space, at night she lets they skies get clearer, the stars and Mercury become visible. In this Solar System, Mercury has an atmosphere, from Venus it appears mostly covered with clouds, it is the home of halflings, gnomes, and other races with tendencies towards theft, Hermes, the one in charge of that Moon is the god of Thieves among other things, its inhabitants tend to reflect his nature among other things.

Earth is almost our Earth, like other places, it has suffered the effects of the Gap, the other planets in this system have not, they have separate histories going back thousands of years. But this Earth had 300 years of records and memories erased, the last records which were not erased right before the period of the Gap was of the year 2018. The political boundaries are the same of that year, but the people are not, they had lives and memories of the last 300 years erased, they don't know what countries they belong to, but they adopt the country that the preGap records indicate they are living in. There is evidence that the planet may have been united under a single world government, but no records of it, so they go ith the last records they had available. Unlike other places in the Galaxy, this Gap just ended, and people are now dealing with the consequences. There are people who can cast spells that don't know where their learned magic, all the records indicate there was no magic before the gap, and the other planets looked different, that is they didn't have life on them. The stars in the night sky were different as well, the star charts dating from just before the gap and the stars they now see in the sky don't match. There are spaceship and other futuristic devices and vehicles and the people of Earth know how to operate and maintain them, but they just can't remember how they learned this knowledge. The clocks on their computers indicate that its the 24th century, but have no records of what occurred during the 300 year gap in history.

Mars is a mostly desert world with a Northern ocean, and a number of crisscrossing canals built by someone, the inhabitants call them the Ancents, some believe they were gods, a lot of it is superstition, this is my dumping ground for most of the creatures from the Alien Archive, There are androids, strange alien creatures, and humans of course. Elves make this planet their home and so do orcs. The god in charge of this planet is of course Ares, the God of War, he likes conflict after all.

The second star in this system has Jupiter in its minisystem. Jupiter is a giant planet, and its gravitational field prevents other planets from having stable orbits, so there is just Jupiter and its Moons here.
Solar System B
Jupiter is a huge planet! I have made it larger here so it would have just 1 gravity on its surface. Jupiter is a world of clouds and tall mountains poking through them, the mountain tops and the upper clouds are the only places that are habitable here, a person falling too far gets cooked and crushed by the thickening atmosphere, thus living creatures need to maintain altitude through flight or live on the mountain tops poking through the clouds. Jupiter is also the home of cloud and storm giants, it is the realm of Zeus, king of the gods in this Solar System at least.

The third Star shines on Saturn
Solar System C
A planet that is similar to Jupiter but smaller and colder, it is the home of Frost giants and other cold loving creatures, Kronos, the god in charge of this place is a bitter old man, he is also known to some as "Father Time" various Time Elementals have been known to make their appearances in the clouds of this world.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

the Starfinder worlds are basically versions of planets in our Solar system already. Castrovel and Akiton are straight out of Edgar Rice Burroughs and other classic pulp material.

There's some other that were thrown in - but they are built on other fantasy space world - Triaxus is based on Anne McAffrey's Pern, for instance.

Aucturn is Lovecraft's Yuggoth, which he wrote about shortly after the discovery of Pluto.

This is a somewhat different setting Homebrew, it is a rearrangement of the planets, seven of them to be precise, each one as a corresponding deity.
Hermes/Mercury

Aphrodite/Venus

Gaia/Earth

Artemis/Luna

Ares/Mars

Zeus/Jupiter

Kronos/Saturn

There are three Sun gods, one for each Sun.

Apollo

Helios

and Pyros.

Sounds like Alien Legacy...

Huh -- interesting take. Never thought of Ares/Mars with a baseball bat before. Now I've got this vision of him evolving from the God of War to the God of Organized Crime . . . .

The mafia evolved out of traditional warrior families. I can see it.

Jupiter being larger with the same mass but having mountains makes no sense at all. It'd be easier to make the 4 Galilean moons habitable; Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.

That's where magic comes in. Jupiter also has a breathable atmosphere, or at least breathable down to the crushing depths. Jupiter is larger with the same mass to give it the same surface gravity as Earth. Its about 50% larger in diameter. the hydrogen is down below, while the breathable gases, Oxygen, Nitrogen are at the 1 atmosphere level. The four Galilean moons are named after.

Io
Io, in Greek mythology, daughter of Inachus (the river god of Argos) and the Oceanid Melia. Under the name of Callithyia, Io was regarded as the first priestess of Hera, the wife of Zeus.

Europa
Europa was initially a Cretan moon goddess, who was incorporated into the Greek mythology as a virgin Phoenician princess. She was the daughter of the King Agenor of Sidon and Europe was named after her.

Ganymede was a Trojan prince in Greek mythology, known for his beauty. He was the son of the king Tros of Dardania, after whom Troy took its name, and Callirrhoe. According to a myth, Zeus turned into an eagle and abducted Ganymede, bringing him to Mount Olympus.

Callisto
Callisto was a nymph (or, according to some sources, the daughter of Lycaon) who was associated with the goddess of the hunt, Artemis. Young women who were devoted to the goddess hunted with her regularly, and remained virgins, like Artemis herself.

These Moons were named by Galileo anyway, the Ancient Greeks didn't know about them, so they are mythical figures, not necessarily gods. Callisto is a Nymph, there is an entry in the Bestiary for her. Europa is a full fledged Moon goddess, so we'll let her remain that, Ganymede is a prince - Zeus went both ways. Io seems to be a demigod, like Hercules. These Moons are named after them, but only Europa is a goddess capable of being in charge of an entire world.

The Ares shown in the picture is the Ares from the Percy Jackson novels, I wanted a more modern god, than one with a sword or spear in a suit of armor. Ares is a bit of a troublemaker. Kronos is a bit of a villain as well, and a cannibal, he one time ate his children. Zeus and Kronos rarely make appearances. Ares is quite busy starting wars wherever he can, Ares doesn't take sides in those wars, but he loves to start them, often he will support the underdog in order to keep some wars going, he is also a god of violence and terrorism, he likes piracy and fights in general.

Aphrodite is a bit of a troublemaker as well, she likes to flirt with heroes, and often in the process, she will inadvertently get other gods and goddesses upset with them. If player characters do something significant that catches her attention, she may show up.

Hermes delivers messages and he often steals things, being the god of thieves and all.

Gaia is the Earth mother and also the mother of monsters, if forced to take a side, she will often side with her children, the monsters. Gaia is a nature goddess, her worshippers are druids, she is at times cruel. Her druids try to manage her and get her to direct her wrath elsewhere, she is often found in the national parks and wilderness areas of many countries on Earth. Gaia is very unpredictable and capricious, Aphrodite is her granddaughter. There is a bit of a family resemblance between the two. Gaia usually appears as a green giantess or a greater Titan. Aphrodite is often a more pleasant goddess to be around than Gaia, though pretty, she can be very destructive at times!

Note that this would need a power of magic enough to destroy some lesser celestial bodies, possibly even of greater size than Earth -- not only are the heavy gases going to want to plunge below the hydrogen (reacting along the way, although the reaction energy would be far less than the gravitational energy), but they will also want to compress to a smaller radius than what Jupiter has, unless it is very hot. So this means that you really can't afford to honk off whoever put this together and/or is maintaining it . . . .

How about a planet scale Wall of Force under the breathable gas layer under a hot ocean of water under that. I am sure Jupiter has a lot of Nitrogen, Oxygen, and water vapor in its atmosphere, separate all that out from its mostly hydrogen composition. You can have the Wall of Force have tiny pore so that hydrogen and helium can pass through but not larger molecules such as oxygen, nitrogen, water, carbon dioxide and the like. Expand the wall of force so that the diameter of the outer atmosphere is 136,488 miles. A person falling through the atmosphere and being crushed will never see the wall of force below him. the god Zeus is responsible for maintaining this Wall of Force spell, it probably takes a lot of his energy to do this. On top of this wall of force are also clumps of solid matter called mountains, one of which is Mount Olympus, where this god keeps his residence on this planet. Ares as aspirations of being the ruler of the gods someday, so he has his own copy of Mount Olympus which is Olympus Mons on his own planet. So if you want to see Ares, you climb Olympus Mons and you go knock on his door. Zeus can likewise be found on his own mountain above the clouds of Jupiter. There are lots of mountains on Jupiter, that is where most of the races that can't spend all of their time flying or floating live. Jupiter has 291 time the surface area of Earth If just 1 Earth worth of land is incorporated in these mountains then if each mountain had 1 square mile of habitable land, there would be an average of 17 miles to the next such mountain and a lot of flying in between. For starships that can land, it is no big problem however.

Here is my latest component to the System Solar System D/Proxima
This planet, once known as Proxima b now goes by the name of Minerva, and it is ruled by the goddess Athena, yes she finally gets a planet. This planet is tidally locked and has an 11.6 day year, it is on average colder than Earth, but the side that is perpetually turned toward the Sun is habitable enough. Athena is troubled by the gap, she woke up on this planet with no previous memories, her citadel has a library with records of Earth's history up to 2018 and no more recent, the only news she can get of herself is that of myths and legends that she has no recollection of personally experiencing, she knows she is a goddess and that she is Athena the goddess of wisdom, she has also decided to become the goddess of science and investigation and she decided to investigate what is going on. Athena usually appears as a human-sized gray-eyed beautiful woman who appears to be in her twenties. Athena doesn't remember how she got this planet, the planet requires very little maintenance compared to some others, it mostly needs shielding from the occasional solar flare that Proxima, the Sun occasionally throws out. The god or goddess of Proxima has thus far been uncommunicative, and Athena has been unable to contact him, her, or it. It appears to be an orange ball of fire that hangs bloated and stationary in Minervas's sky. the plants around her compound are palm trees and other tropical flora and fauna, there are no seasons, the day is eternal, it is hard to measure the passage of time, but as an immortal Athena is not overly concerned about it.

You seem to be forgetting the one of the three brothers who stopped screwing around and actually ran his domain with anything resembling efficiency.

I really think classical Hades got the short end of the stick in recent times. I guess it's still better than all the deities remembered only as Christian demons.

^Maybe Hades actually has the dark side of Minerva's planet . . . .

Hades planet would be Pluto, and Pluto is a ball of ice. I haven't mentioned Poseidon either, his planet is Neptune. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto were never thought to be the homes of the gods as the Ancient Greeks didn't know about them. and I needed three Suns to make the planets Mercury through Saturn habitable Saturn is the planet of Cronus, who is also known as "Father Time", he is a nasty deity, known for eating his children, but his Time portfolio gives me a few ideas for what to put on Saturn. Of the gods here, probably Cronus is one of the gods that knows what happened during the Gap, as he could always travel back in time to find out, and he has time elementals as his minions. Cronus does not have very good relations with his children and grandchildren, so he is not very cooperative about revealing information about the Gap. People traveling in Saturn might find themselves caught in a vortex and sent to another time. Some things from other times have also ended up on Saturn, certain ships and airplanes that have gone missing in the Bermuda Triangle for instance might end up here, perhaps marooned on a mountain top in Saturn's atmosphere. Saturn is a big place after all.
