Two issues are manifesting today:

- I'm being randomly logged out when viewing threads. Not easily reproducible, but seems to happen when I visit a thread.
- I'm unable to edit a Gameplay post (posted within the last 5 minutes). Attempting to do so gets me redirected to http://paizo.com/posts#newPost (which works out to the home page).

These are in addition to the issue I posted Monday (now occurring for page 2).

Please let us know that you're working on these issues — they're seriously impacting the usability of the site.

Correction: I'm unable to edit /any/ posts, including the original post above.

We're investigating this. You are experiencing some new code.

I am having the same issue with being logged out every time I attempt to edit a post.

OK, I think I've identified the evil in the code. Now to figure out how best to fix it without breaking anything else.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention so quickly. I expect we should have a fix for this later today.

Edit: If you can see this edit, we may have fixed the issue.

Interesting. I got logged out earlier when favoriting a post. I thought it was an issue on my end, but I guess not.

Darn programmers, always writing new code...

Spoiler:
I may or may not be a programmer.

Gary, any chance the fix will also address the missing Gameplay forum pages?

Thanks for the heads up Gisher, Gary's already delving into the issue so I'll pass it on to him so we can make sure it gets sorted as well.

The "go to checkout" button keeps sending me to the home page, FYI.

I know we were looking at that the other day, I don't think it will be a part of the immediate fix Gary is working on at the moment.

Appreciated, I'll make sure that gets added to the list. :)

We're also aware of an issue where users trying to download PDFs are getting redirected to the front page as well. Working to have it resolved asap.

Alas... ah well, I live in hope.

Erik, thanks for the frequent replies to this thread. It helps a lot. :)

When we´re already doing this:
-Opening a new tab lately often brings a completely different tab to open. One that was already closed or is still open in another tab.
-Access to a certain non-public forum after opening the messageboard is even shorter and buggierthan usual.

Maybe related, I got logged out when flipping through old "favorited" posts on my account. Changing pages caused me to log out. Even when I log back in I am only able to view 1-50. When I click on a specific page number it just refreshes the 1-50 "page 1" page.

BigDTBone:
Is that happening right now, or was it happening earlier this morning? We just pushed a change that should have resolved a number of the issues that were being listed.

Hayato Ken:
I'll do some investigation and see if I can replicate / review what might be causing it.

Update: After about 12 tries, I was able to purchase a PDF.

I just tried again to make sure. Whenever I choose a page other than 1 on my "favorited by others" tab it gives me the working/spinning animation directly above the "1-50 of 1218" for about 15-20 seconds and then reloads page 1 again.

We should have a fix for the "unable to page through results on user profile pages" bug later today.

I just tested this, and I am getting the same result on a mac using both Safari and Firefox. The delay is only a couple of seconds using Firefox, though.

Some people are currently having trouble viewing their campaigns page. This bug should be fixed later today.

I am also noticing random logouts.

Sign me up for the "randomly logging out, extensive page wait" issues, as well.

Concerns about test environments aside, I do hope you are able to fix the issue without much trouble. Here's to victory!

Random logout.

securepaizo.com/paizo/messageboards (flattened)

does not display all messages. Usually I'll see five or six new messages that were posted within the last few minutes.

Now there is one from today, and two from yesterday as the top three results.

It seems to be picking up across forums (Starfinder, Recruitment, etc) but it's missing most of the posts in the display

Screenshots available if needed.

I have also noticed that posting and then returning to the boards has the UI counting the post I just made as unread.

I mean, I'm pretty sure I check what I'm saying, but who knows, maybe my computer is lying to me.

Wheeeeeee forum bugs! *get a mallet*

I see what part of my problem is:

The page is displaying all the (sticky) posts first, whether or not there is a recent comment.

So there's no way to see what the actual 'new comments" are unles you page through until the end of the list of 'sticky' threads

ETA
And the page navigation links at the bottom aren't working. When I click "2" the url changes to page 2, but the display page is still page 1 with all the stickies

Still getting logged out on the iPhone.

Anything marked New was added after this post was originally made.

We think these bugs have been fixed

- Unable to page through results on user profile pages
- Some people having trouble viewing their campaigns page

Still in development/testing

- Reported problems with "x new" becoming out of date or not updating at all
- Website feedback forum occasionally redirecting to its parent forum
- Paging through flattened forums is not working properly, and the page you do get is full of sticky threads. New
- Unsticky preferences on My Downloads page New
- Last download dates incorrect on My Downloads page New
- Random logouts still occurring New

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Still not able to use page number navigation bars at the top and bottom of the page to move off the first page.

Even when the url indicates that I'm on another page, the display only shows the first page.

on "messageboards" page:

https://secure.paizo.com/paizo/messageboards&page=2

for example

And that page is filled with old sticky threads until you get about 3/4 the way down the page

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

I see it now, that's a different paging through results bug. I'll add a note to my previous post. Thanks!

Random logouts, still a thing, sadly.

I saw an issue on the "My Downloads" page. I recently purchased 3 PDFs, looked at the "My Downloads" page, and sorted it by Date Added for convenience to download later.

This evening I went back to that page and found that the sort order had changed to "Group By Company". So I re-sorted that page and downloaded the PDFs with no issue. However, after downloading the three PDFs, I noticed that they still had "Last Downloaded" dates of "never".

So, I went away from that page, visited a couple of other pages, and then returned to the "My Downloads" page. Once there, I saw that the sort order had once again reverted to "Group By Company". So I sorted the list by "Date Added" twice again. (I had to do it twice because the first sort the Pathfinder Beta files at the top rather than at the bottom.) After doing that, I saw that my three most recent PDF purchases all still had "Last Downloaded" dates of "never".

BTW, that's using the "flattened" feature.

I've tried toggling 'flatten' and 'expand' to no effect.

And the 2nd issue is the sticky notes that are not current that fill the page above the more recent posts.

You can't tell if there are new posts unless you scroll past the out of date stickied posts

I've updated my previous post to include some more known bugs. Fixes for most of them should be ready for QA tomorrow-ish, except for the random logouts one. I have to think more about that one.

Thanks so much. Hope tomorrow goes smoothly

I believe that the random logouts bug is also affecting Wayfinder. (I know that's not your software, but wanted to mention it here in case anyone else is having issues.)

On the plus side, editing posts seems to have been fixed -- add it to the "wins" list, Gary!

(Unless it isn't actually fixed, in which case, you don't have to.)

Just posting here to mention I am also experiencing random logouts; I don't know if they've attempted a new fix for it or not, but I figured it was worth mentioning in case they had.

I'm finding myself having to log back in every hour or so. It's pretty weird! I should see what's going on with the cookie next time it happens; I've been lazy.

website was down for most of the day for me, also I randomly get logged out, now that it is running again

Already checked it... looks like the expiration time is getting set correctly, so the server must be invalidating it early.

Looks like the new code performed as I expected, except for the part where the entire site decided to disable itself around midnight....

Today we'll be QA'ing the fixes completed yesterday, and working out fixes for the others. If we do push this code to production today, it would be later this afternoon Pacific time.

Gary or Dean, et al ... anything new on the strange iPhone message board display issues?

This is unrelated to the current site issues, and was not part of yesterday's code release. It's in the backlog of to-dos, but hasn't quite made it up the chain yet.
