Eh, I'd make a Soldier the guy taking the shot. The Operative doesn't get much out of sniper rifles, while the Soldier could actually Snipe + Fire and still get his advantages. Which isn't something the Operative can claim.
I've been working on a technomancer Sniper that dips one level in Mechanic to get the drone to be my spotter, has this already been proved impossible (cant find any threads) and would a hover drone with stealth and a camera be able to be my spotter?
Thanks ahead of time Hivemind,

I can't think of any advantages in the Starfinder rules from having a spotter.
I couldn't find any either, but i found it a great character concept and wondered what an Elven Technomancer w/Mechanic dip Sniper would be very cool.
It's also nice (but not necessary) if the rules support the cool concept :)

For awhile I was working on a character that would become a Soldier (Sharpshooter) 3/Mechanic (Exo-Cortex) X with maximum Dexterity.
At character level 12 (retirement age for Society):
BAB - +9 (Tracking +12)
Weapon Focus (Sniper) - +1 or +2 (forget how it interacts with Tracking)
Laser Accuracy Gear Boost - +1
Dex 24 - +7
Miracle Worker - +2
Total: +21 non-Tracking, +22 or +23 Tracking
Then you throw in
Sharphooter Level 1 - reduced penalty 2 vs. cover
Targeting Computer - removes concealment, right?
Various scope/grip/whatnot
This build will have +2d6 Overcharge and +4d6 Supercharge Weapon, though if it ever hits 13th level you could theoretically throw in Recalibrate Weapon from Armory for another +1d6.
