Ultimate Combat Printing: Sohei

Under the FAQ it says

Quote:

Monk, Sohei: Can a sohei use flurry of blows while wearing light armor?

Yes (but not medium or heavy armor). However, a sohei does not gain his monk AC bonus class feature when wearing armor.

The next printing of Ultimate Combat will be changed to reflect this ruling.

posted October 2013

Have the recent printings of Ultimate Combat been "changed to reflect this ruling"?

Can anyone confirm this for me? I had a browse through the errata documents I could find but didn't see this included as one of the changes...

Current printing doesn't mention Flurry of Blows or AC Bonus abilities at all.

Seems odd that they officially acknowledged it, FAQ'd and even said that they would update it in future printings, then didn’t...

Does this mean they aren't happy with the FAQ ruling?

I just realised this thread title is wrong, it's meant to be "Ultimate Combat Printing: Sohei", guess I was on autopilot. Any idea if it can be changed?

The will reprint the book when the current printing is close to being sold out, not before.

So wait, is the book still in its first printing?

The FAQ was posted in October 2013, since then we've had at least one round of errata that according to the UC page says:

Errata

Last Updated - 8/20/2015

First Printing to Third Printing (v1.1)—Download (2.3MB zip/PDF)
Second Printing to Third Printing (v2.0)—Download (2.3MB zip/PDF)

Does that not imply it's at least on the third printing?

Indeed, that FAQ does not seem to be a part of the most recent printing.

Morbid Eels, just to try and clarify what Zaister and I are saying:

So, that FAQ predates the current printing, and the current printing doesn’t reflect it, despite the FAQ saying it would, therefore the current printing is wrong (the number of possible reasons is huge, so I won’t try to explain it). All we can do is bring it to the attention of the relevant parties (this is a good place, I think) in an attempt to ensure that future printings are written correctly.

Agreed, I imagine it was just an oversight that it wasn't included in the updated printings. I hope they do remember to add it to the next printing - better five years late than never, after all... :)

I seem to recall one book where corrections made in the second printing got accidentally reversed in the third (don’t think it was PF) because the third printing was updated from the first printing and all the second printing corrections got skipped.

Fun times!

It would be good to know if it not being updated in the later printings was an oversight or deliberate due to a designer reviewing the FAQ (or something similar).

Maybe someone in-the-know could fill us in?
