Lycanthrope feat

Rules Questions

My friend claims to have found a feat that allows him to start at level as a lycanthrope. I couldn't find any and I am fairly new so I was wondering if anybody knew anything about it and it's limitations. Thanks!

There is no such feat as far as I know. If he found it it's up to HIM to show it you.

Agreed, ask your friend. Maybe there's a campaign-specific trait out there somewhere, but I doubt it.

I'm unaware of any feat that lets you start as a lycanthrope. However, Book of the Damned contains the Fiendish Obedience feat, which if you take that and worship Jezelda, you become an afflicted werewolf at level 16 and a natural one at level 20 (werewolves only).

If you're ok with it, and the rest of the party is at least level 2, you can just have him start as a natural lycanthrope at 1 level less than the party. The Bestiary offers the following advice on this: "If a player wants to play a lycanthrope, he should play a natural lycanthrope and follow the guidelines for playing a character of a powerful race." In any event, allowing the lycanthropy template on a PC is 100% up to you as the GM -- there is no default assumption that says that players are allowed to take templates.

There's also the lycanthropy corruption from Horror Adventures as a slightly more "balance-friendly" way to get lycanthropy into a party (read: tons of drawbacks and possibility of losing your character).

The alone feat I know of is in a book by the third-party publisher Necromancers of the Northwest. Also there is a way to make a pseudo-were using the Hunter class, Skinwalker race and some racial feats.
