Rule Question: Tumor Familiar Fast Healing 5

Rules Questions

Hello to all. I apologize for any grammatical mistakes.
I have a doubt about the claims made by my player, an alchemist.
On the first level, thanks to "Extra Discovery" he got the discovery "Tumor Familiar".
Now, he interprets the sharing of skills when he is attached to the body, with the cure involved (fast healing 5). In my opinion, reading carefully; the specific text that is the family to get it by excluding the master.
What do you think?
I claim he plays much longer than me, but I honestly think I'm in the right interpretation, even because he would have access to such a thing only from level 12.
Thanks for your help!

You are correct, only the tumor have fast healing 5 (when attach to the body)
The players does not have the fast healing 5 when the tumor is attach.

Note that you must have Discoveries before taking Extra Discovery, so the player cannot have taken the feat at first level.

He could retrain his 1st level feat for it though once he's gotten Discoveries.

PS: alchemist does not share fast heal. ;)

Note though that Protector Archetype allows the alchemist at fifth level to have the tumor take hits for him, in which case the fast healing comes into play.

As for sharing of skills... Well there is an empathic link, but unless the familiar talks you’re not going to get much use out of it for knowledges and such. It could work for perception as a danger sense though...

Hi, just to note this:

Protector familiars are so devoted that they would give their lives for their masters. A tumor familiar can’t be a protector.

Hey Urheil, you're responding to a 5-year-old post. Of particular note, the protector archetype appears in two books: Familiar Folio and Ultimate Wilderness. Familiar Folio was the earlier book and at the time of Hmmm's post Ultimate Wilderness had not been released. Familiar Folio did not have the restriction that tumors could not be protectors. Ultimate Wilderness updated/erratad several familiar and animal companion archetypes, including the protector. Archives of Nethys uses the updated language.
