Non Evil Beast Bonded Witch backstory sugestions please?

So, I'v been trying to write backstories for classes I want to try to help me decide what to play next. I have gotten together a backstory for three of the classes but I'm drawing a blank on the witch..

I want to try a non evil male human beast-bonded witch, But I cant think of anything for the backstory.. So I was wondering if anyone had any sugestions or tips? Dosent need to be a full backstory, Just ideas and tips and stuff!

Well, what patron were you thinking of having for your Witch? That might spark some ideas.

Fey bargain for power, but he can't remember whatever it was he gave up.

His spouse died, but he was able to use his power save them by putting their soul in an animal.

The witch was originally an animal, and somebody else's familiar. He conned some rube into striking up a deal with sufficiently vague terms, and ended up with the human body as a result. (The now-familiar is really ticked, but has been strung along with promises of a new, better body.) Not evil, but kind of a jerk.

I actualy dont have any idea of what patron to pick.. Hmm... What Patron to chose.. *looks through them*

I like the Healing Patron if your group doesn't already have a cleric - it gives you access to useful situational healing spells, particularly Lesser Restoration, Remove Disease, and Restoration. The Healing patron would also go well with QuidEst's suggestion that the familiar contain the soul of the character's dying spouse (or other loved one); the character made a deal for healing power, but didn't get the right power to save their loved one in the way they intended.

We do have a Oracle, Who claims to be the healer, But he will almost never heal.. We have to beg him to heal and even then he only ocasionaly heals..

Oh! I got an idea for a backstory! How does this sound? (Rough draft for now)

He was born into a well off merchant family and was suposed to be the heir but when he was young he meet a small calico cat who seemed to be able to talk! It promised him great powers that would aid him in his life, And the young boy agreed to it. So the feline started teaching him and instructing him in the ways of magic in secret. And as he learned more and more he started using what he had learned, Sometimes to aid and help himself or others, And sometimes to play pranks. Though as things tend to go when one starts pranking people, He ended up being discoverd and accused of horrible witchcraft and when the angry mob came he and the cat fleed from the town, Barley getting away.

As they traveld the cat continued teaching him, Almost seeming like it was trying to shape him for a specific goal...
