Playing modules and time lag e.g. Absalom series

How are people approaching this module? It ends on a cliffhanger which gives the GM absolutely no way to go 'congrats, mission complete' and then have people go off and do other adventures. Another reason I think they can't go and do adventures is because if they level up, the adventure will be too easy. I'd like to take my players though the Society adventures before doing Absalom (which will mean that the 2nd will be out so we can just keep playing), but I'm worried that doing that will also see them level up too much. Help?

Seems weird and inconsistent, especially in Society play, that you can play with the same PC other scenarios after the first AP and then afterwards just play the second AP.

For my part I'm handling it in two ways:

1) Our group uses a "milestone" system for levelling anyway for Pathfinder, so this works perfectly for letting them have more adventuring at the appropriate level , using DEAD suns, the SFS scenarios, or even home brewed scenarios;

2) the gap between acts 1 and 2 of the first AP book is perfect timing for inserting some level 1 side quests for scenarios before setting them on a collision course wirh the rest of the AP.

In the end, though, this is unfortunately the risk for playing an AP before all the sections are out. If it is just too difficult to run without all its parts, it might be a better idea to run a home-brewed scenario between now and, say, May of 2018 so that you can have the majority of the AP in hand before running it. Otherwise, you might want to get group buy-in on switching to a milestone system (where they level at appropriate times rather than by counting XP) for the length of running this Dead Suns AP.
