While the next Starfinder AP is still a year out, may we request that any future AP have at least a brief “Player’s Guide”?

What we learned from Dead Suns is why this could have been helpful.

  • A warning that a devout follower of Pharasma would be a “challenging” character choice (and that Iomedae and Sarenrae might also be difficult, but less so then a Pharasman). Even if the guide doesn’t explain why.
  • Also helpful would have been a brief explanation of what the Starfinder Society is (and how they are viewed by the public at large). Yes, this information is also on page 479 of the Starfinder Core Rulebook, but not every player will have read that information. A short paragraph here, which can direct the reader to that page in the Rulebook would be helpful for the next point.
  • It could have informed the players that their characters should be looking to join (or at least work for) the Starfinder Society.
  • The excellent, abet unofficial, player’s guide provided by Paris Crenshaw, goes one further and links the various themes in the Rulebook to possible backgrounds to improve the character’s connection to the adventure.
I am pointing this out, not to re-ignite debate on the Dead Suns, but to illustrate the need for a Player’s Guide (of some form) for future Starfinder APs.

There has GOT to be a better hosting site than that one. It bombards with ads, iMovie links and other massive irritants.

True. But's that where the Unofficial Player's Guide resides.
