*hoists a brew in commemoration*
I'm saddened for your loss, Cal.
I'm reminded of my old friend, David Dorton. He and I gamed most every week for 5 years or more. I developed a very strong friendship with him -- one that lasted through my divorce and a rapid succession of girlfriends thereafter, and through his marriage, the births of his daughters, and my eventual move away from NW Alabama. He was diagnosed with leukemia not long after I moved, and fought a good fight against it. His death was one of those impossible tragedies -- a double-whammy that caught everyone by surprise: the cure for one of his complications couldn't get through the other complication, and likewise the other. He is sorely missed.
But I made mention of it specifically because he, too, had a catchphrase. This wasn't a game-oriented one, though -- he remembered it for years just for the sake of aggravating me. I can't even remember why it turned into the ribbing it did, but it was definitely one he wouldn't let go. Tenacious, David was.
And, to this day, I can't help but chuckle most every time I hear someone say: "tartar sauce".
Speed of the Bunny! With tartar sauce!!
