I'm about to start running Dead Suns with 6 players. Anyone else doing the same thing?

Just wanting some advice on how to scale the 1st book of the adventure path for 6 players instead of 4?

Thanks in advance.

I'd add one more gang member on each side at the dock, and add one more King member at the Fusion (inside, not outside). The Fusion depends on how combat focused your group is - my 3 player group could barely handle the leader and her body guard, but none of my PCs are combat focused. I completely removed all 5 gang members from the fight. For a 6-player team, the fight might be good by itself. Play it by ear - if they're doing good, have 1-2 more King's show up towards the end. If they're doing poorly, either bring in some L21 gang members or have one King flee for every other King that is killed or runs away (remember, the mooks run away at 3 HP).

For starship combat, the ship they give you only has four spots, meaning two PCs will be out of a role. There are only five roles total; so that's generally a problem with larger groups. You may want to consider simply giving this ship a five crew slot and one person can assist, or give them two 3-man ships. If the latter, I'd also increase the shields of the enemy ship.

On the Acreon and Drift Rock, add one more zombie to each zombie encounter, and one more goblin to each goblin encounter. The rest of the encounters I'd leave alone.

Depending on how well they're doing, I may increase the HP of the final boss by 25-50%.

My suggestion is to run Hunger Games with your players until they are 4 :)

Now, being serious: add 50% number to every encounter, as the PCs are 50% more too. So whenever you see 4 gang members, put 6. When you see 2 akatas, use 3, and so on.

A +1 CL template was my ussual adjustment for "boss-like" encounters against solo enemies. Normally Advanced, but sometimes used Giant or Nightmare or some other. Might be worth it to translate those templates from PF. Advanced is pretty easy. I'd do +2 to hit, damage, saves, HP per HD, and AC (AC is lower in general in SF, so +4 might be too much)

While there is only 1 captain and 1 pilot, multiple players can definitely fire multiple guns (one on each gun), and I am pretty sure that science officer and engineer are not confined to a single person.

So plenty of rooms in the ship rules for a big group.

i left the fusion queen as is and my group handled it pretty easily, although Vrokilayo did knock the Solarian unconscious with his awesome blow ability. Going into the Acreon I am debating between beefing up the akata encounters or adding one or two more encounters to add to the feel of a swarm wearing them down through attrition.

Expecting it to be helpful against the garaggakal!

I am about to start the Dead suns Adventure path and I have a question that perhaps another GM can answer for me, I have a question on how to handle character advancement in the dead suns adventure path. According to the Incident at Absalom Station the character should be level 2 by the end of the 1st mini adventure. But according to the Starfinder adventure paths sheet of this path the players earn 3Xp for completing the adventure, so they are not getting to second level until after you finish the first book of the adventure path. Looking at several encounters in part 3 the characters would be at a disadvantage at level one. Since your characters are not supposed to play anything else during the time you are in each book of the adventure path, how can a society character level up to be able to handle the encounters during the 3rd section of the first book?
