Unchained First Worlder Summoner

Rules Questions

I was told old archetypes work with the unchained summoner class, and wondered if having an unchained First Worlder Summoner is a valid option.

I am aware of the Fey Caller archtype, but it's no good because as per Raw it has yet to be fixed. (The Fey subtype invented by the archtype does not qualify for many evolutions because Paizo has yet to go back to their evolution list and add the subtype for qualifiers)

First Worlder edits the Eidolon's type to Fey and such, but the unchained summoner would still have to pick a subtype for it to have started as, which would be the subtype referenced when qualifying for evolutions I would guess?

No, the First Worlder is not legal with the unchained summoner because it modifies the eidolon class feature. Summoner archetypes that modify the eidolon class features are not legal with the unchained summoner.

Even in spite of its poor evolution compatibility the Fey Caller is still better than the First Worlder. The First Worlder's fey eidolon gets 1/2 BAB progression, meaning it can't actually hit anything so combat-related evolutions are useless to it anyways. The Fey Caller doesn't have this issue and is actually capable of fighting.

Is this for PFS or for a home game? Dasrak's answer is correct for PFS, but for a home game, there is nothing stopping you from applying the First Worlder archetype to the Unchained Summoner.

Yup, PFS put a limitation on how old ones apply to the new summoner, but the "official" rule is that all can apply somehow.

I prefer diversity and flavor over combat ability, so until Fey Caller evolution qualifications are fixed, First Worlder is pretty much my only option to build a fey that I'd find fun.

In a side nite though,Yuck!, I didn't know about that PFS stipulation. Does that mean Story Summoner is no longer legal either, even though it is included in the approved additional resources? (It modifies the Eidolon too x_x, but it seemed really cool using the Harrow cards)

Can someone quote me the PFS ruling on how old summoner archetypes qualify or not?

If it alters the eidolon then it's a no go.
though there might get exceptions like this, "The shaitan binder archetype can be applied to an unchained summoner; however, the summoner must select elemental (earth) for his eidolon's subtype." Since it's not altering the base form but making you take a specific option.

EDIT:
here is where it says it.

"The unchained summoner qualifies for all existing summoner archetypes, save those that modify the eidolon's type or base form."
