Alchemist / Master Chymist questions!

Advice

So, I was looking at the Master Chymist, And i think it seems like fun! I like Mutagen, So why not a Mutagen focused Alchemist? Now, I had a few questions!

First! The Mutagenic Form of the Master Chymist is useable 2 times per day at first level Master Chymist, Does this stack with the Mutagen of the Alchemist giving you 2 at will hulk sessions from the Master Chymist, And 1 mutagen extract bottle thingie hulk session from the Alchemist? If so, Are they the same mutagenic form?

Second! Does getting knocked out when in the mutagenic form push yu back into your regular form? If so, If I had the Master Chymists "Restoring Change" to heal me when ever I change into or out of the mutagenic form and I am huked out and get hit to 0 HP, And change back (If it hapens automaticaly when knocked out) would that heal me so i'm immedietly back in the fight?

Third! Can you make a support capable Alchemist/Master Chymist, Who heals and buffs and then hulks out when fighting? Like picking the Chirurgeon Alchemist archetype?

Yes, the 2 "at will" uses are on top of your mutagen-in-a-bottle. Note that your at-will-mutagen is limited to X/day, while your mutagen-in-a-bottle is unlimited in use, but takes an hour to brew and you can only have 1 at a time. This means you should probably use your bottle first & re-brew it if you have time during the day.

And yes they both take on the "mutagenic form" of the master chymist.

No.

First, you only get forced to change on a critical hit or failed fort save, not when you go unconscious (although you will have to make a fort save to stabilise when you get knocked out).
Second, you only get forced to change INTO your hulk form, not OUT OF it. If you read the ability description you'll see it says: "Anytime the character is in her normal form ... she may be forced to switch..."
Thirdly (and most importantly), the change requires a standard action. You can't take standard actions if you're unconscious.

Yup, don't see why not? Personally I'm not a huge fan of the Chirurgeon archetype. I'd probably go with something like the BEASTMORPH archetype instead since you're focusing on your mutagenic form. The only thing you really need as a support alchemist is the infusion discovery, so pick an archetype with flavour you like.

(My take on the Chirurgeon archetype:)

Spoiler:
I mean you probably don't care about the stuff you're losing (poison stuff) but I don't find I really care about the stuff you get either.
If you want to be buffing your friends you're going to take the Infusion discovery anyway, and if you don't take it you're going to find it harder when they get poisoned/diseased/etc.
The heal-skill stuff doesn't really matter once you have magical healing (which is always for an alchemist).
The Breath of Life extract seems amazing, but it's hard to use. You have to give it to them within 1 round of them dying, which means you don't have time to brew it on the fly. You have to brew it at the start of the day day & have one less 4th level extract just in case your party goes down.

Thanks for the awnsers! Very helpful ^_^

For the secont question it was more a generic mutagen question then a Master Chymist specific question as I was curious, If you are in mutagenic form from alchemist or Master Chymist, And you get knocked out by HP going below 0, Do you remain mutated untillt he mutagen runs out, So if you get healed and wake up but would have had 4 minutes left, You are still in the mutagenic form and have the buffs? It dosent just end when you get KOd?

Nah it doesn't end if you get KO'd. That's good news if you ever want to use a CON mutagen, your HP stays up when you're KO'd.

Actually that's a thought - you could dump CON and use your mutagen in combat to be less squishy as a Bomber Alchemist. Bomb-focused alchemists get less out of their Mutagen than melee Alchemists, so you wouldn't care as much. It probably ends up slightly less good than not-dumping-CON and using a DEX Mutagen, but you could have some fun role-play times as a weak, sickly potion-addict or something.

Thanks! ^_^ The Master Chymist seems like a lot of fun to play ^_^

It sure does. I'm thinking Gnome bomb-thrower, then when I run out of bombs (or when cornered) go Feral Mutagen + STR potion + enlarge.

I just noticed 2 weird things about the Master Chymist though ...

It has full BAB. Ok not weird, but I hadn't noticed. Pretty awesome.

It has slightly worse than 3/4 extract progression. There usually when a prestige class gives you 3/4 spell progression it goes 0 1 2 3_3 4 5 6_6 7, but here we go 0 1 2_2 3 4 5_5 6 7. Slightly worse than normal for some reason. Still looks hella-fun though.

Maybe it's worse because it adds Full BaB on a class feature that gives you better versions of a Strength-increasing class feature?

Oh yeah it's a pretty strong class, it's just different to normal. If you look at something like DRAGON DISCIPLE you can see that their dead levels (for spells) are levels 1, 5, & 9. The alchemist has its dead leves (for extracts) are levels 1, 4 & 8.
It's just unusual is all. It's a slight nerf, but I still think it's a strong enough class to not be a real problem.
