I'm probably missing it in the rules, but how do you handle a situation where you want to have multiple starships?
For example, a freighter with a fighter escort? I'm not seeing any way to split your starship into multiple ships. If you've got a 5 or 6 person game then it would make very good sense to have a fighter escort for your ship. Anyone find anything?

thats a easy one, if you are splitting the bp of the ships for a original build (ie not modifying a existing ship( becuase it would already have a tier assigned at that point) you simple track the used bp of the divided ships. so lets say your gm says you have 55 build points so your group says ok.. and decides to make a 25 and a 30bp ship, they have tier rating for those ships, exceeding a teir point value obviously during creation moves that stick, but once you commission it and start the game. your stuck at that teir. till you can upgrade or trade it for another size level.

Alternatively, you could split up your BPs among multiple ships, with all of them being of a tier appropriate to party level. Given that some people are looking for ways to reduce the tiers of their ships (to make certain skill checks easier), it might make sense to not leave the option for multiple ships as a workaround to reduce your tier.

To me, that's a different problem. Higher tier ships shouldn't be harder than lower tier ships. IE: There shouldn't be an incentive built into the system for the you to have less powerful ships in order to be more effective with your ship. Unless it was intended as a way of trading off control for power. If it was, then there should be a way to split the tier across multiple ships...
