Dex to damage?

Rules Questions

I had read a forum post about dex to damage from the operative class. I can't Find it. Did anyone figure out if the operative gets dex to damage. And if so what weapons types would qualify.

From what I've seen other people post it's in the weapon abilities.
Operative typed weapons.

No one gets dex to damage. Operative weapons can be used with dex to hit without needing a weapon finesse feat. They still use str for damage.

I had this same question after reading in the ability damage section that Dex ability damage affects: Armor Class, attack rolls that rely on Dexterity (usually ranged), weapon damage rolls that rely on Dexterity (such as operative weapons), initiative checks, and reflex saves.

However I could not find anywhere in the core rule books where it states that Operatives or weapons with the operative special weapon property actually get Dex to damage.

I'm not sure if it's been stated on the forums yet, but Owen answered that in the AMA a few days ago saying no dex to damage. LINK

I'd seen that too. Makes me wonder: When you have two points of Dex damage, should the damage that you do with an operative weapon go down by one point, seeing as it is a weapon damage roll that relies on Dexterity [to hit] (such as [with all] operative weapons)?

Or is it a holdover from a previous rules incarnation?

I believe that quote is what has caused the confusion, and does appear to be an artefact from when operative weapons did Dem to damage.

I wonder if I'm the only person a little bit peeved that they chose to do this on a non Paizo site.

Foolish me for thinking that I'd get better information at Paizo than Reddit.

At the least, there could be a sticky link to other sites.

On reddit, the best questions rise to the top of the forum. On paizo, it's more often the worst questions that stay up there.
