Welcome, Players, to the Tadloton Merc Guild.

The intro in the quest will be posted to the gameplay thread. Please make only 1 post in reaction to the scene that just happened and to state your own name and what "yer can do" between now and Wednesday around 5 PM when I will initiate the next sequence. You have until now and Wednesday at 5 to have your character completely set.

Some house GM notes:

-I run several characters as what I call GMPCs. These characters, such as Payk, Glifdore and Dante, will often post under their own alias. In addition to allies, some enemies will be played like PCs. This means I give them complete PC builds, and give them PC dying rules. So if you knock someone to the ground, make sure they're dead.

-I run combat in blocks, with all heroes that have a higher initiative then the next bad guy posting. After that point I will reconcile the Player posts, run the bad guys post, and then it's back to the players. I try to bunch multiple enemies under a single init roll, but will split out separate enemies in more important fights. In fact, as a good rule of thumb, if an enemy has their own init rule you should probably make sure they're dead.

-Make sure you list you AC, HP, Saves, Perception and Init in the Race and Class fields of you profile so that it shows under your name in the gameplay field.

-Please post your drawback (if you have one) below.

-Starting Gold Bonus: In addition to your base starting gold, all of your characters will have 4 weeks to prepare for your journey to Tadloton. The journey itself is paid for through letters of credit that Glifdore arranged, but you may spend the 4 weeks working. this means you can roll 4 Profession checks and add half that much in gold to your possession. You may also use that gold to buy additional equipment. Bards, entertainers, orators, anyone with a perform skill or other similar professions can add 1d4 rolls of their profession/perform skill to simulate performing on the journey to Tadloton. You may only take 1/4 the value of the roll in gold for these types of checks.

In addition to the accident that set him on the course he’s on now, Ursus’s drawback is Pride.

I’ll get a character header setup shortly. Do you have a certain formatting you prefer?


Dante's stat line in the game play is a good example.

This is after the trip has happened, in the tavern the Morning Ale. You responded to a flyer, and then had correspondence with Glifdore that said you should be at the Morning Ale at this time and this day for induction into the guild.

They are independent, and will not be meeting each other.

You may make the profession check untrained.

I just noticed that the Excitable trait is a gnome racial trait. I have replaced it with anatomist and my sheet and background will be changed accordingly.

Unfortunately I can’t fiddle with Rolld20 while I’m at work or on my phone. Can someone describe the map to me? How far are the zombies from the building we’re inside?


Yeah, the downside of it. You are 50 feet from the closest zombies. You have two paths though, down an allie where Dante went, or to the main street where Payk went.


I have posted a map to the roll 20 for this fight. You should be able to move your character to where you want. Make sure you do all of your RP and rolls on the game play forum, just use the map for movement and battle understanding.

Based on where your icon lies on the map, it's 20 ft between you and the tavern door. From there there's a zombie 35 ft. down an alley too your left. Dante and Ursus are pursuing it. Down the main street, Payk is 45 ft from the door, with Alden and Glifdore close behind. Askrel and Vince are directly outside the door headed down main street. There's also an alleyway to the right. More zombies would appear to be down the main street.

You can describe it as you wish, though at the end of each round I'll still do wrap up decisions. I welcome it, but I'm more interested in the thoughts/flourishes/etc than attack descriptions.

That was pretty much a blanket statement. Askrel is overly sarcastic. Italics will just about always emphasize sarcasm.

Right now everyone is in the mausoleum and the known necromancer and suspected perpetrator of the current undead ranks is outside, coming to the mausoleum you occupy.

I believe tie has dropped out, and Jack is still on vacation. Not sure what Varian and Askrel are up to.
