Magic weapons and lead

Rules Questions

Does the handle of a magic weapon also detect as magic or would a lead sheath be sufficient to keep it undetected?
If the handle does count as magic, would some sort of lead lining or coating or whatever block detect magic?

Since magic weapons have increased hardness and HP, something that would be useless if applied only to the non-haft portion of, say, a spear, I would say the entire weapon detects as magical. A double weapon complicates things a bit though--I've never been clear on how their magical auras and other properties work in between ends.

double weapon price is for balance or else it make no sense, take the spear its all magical, take the quarterstaff na only the half is magical, but its for balance purpose since you can use it in TWF with the other ends as a light weapon, but in any case all of the weapon is magic even double since even if double it only has one hardness and one HP pool for both end, if one end is hit both are hit
