Tengu Shigenjo's Oracle Curse effective level cap?

Mainly a double check, since it sounds too awesome.

Okay, Tengu Favored Class Bonus for the Oracle is +1/2 level for the purposes of their oracle curse (ARG).

Tengu specific archetype for the Oracle, the Shigenjo (also ARG) grants a ki pool at 7th level. One of the listed options for using ki points for this archetype is to spend one to gain +5 to her oracle level for the purposes of resolving her Curse. This only lasts a round.

So, my question, is there any sort of limit on how high my effective Oracle level can be for the purposes of resolving the Oracle Curse? Can it be more than 20?

As above, a 7th level Tengu Shigenjo Oracle could have an effective Curse Level of 10 (rounded down), and then, for a round, increase it to 15.

Not all the Oracle Curses grant any bonus beyond 20th level, but some do. At 12th level, the Tengu Oracle would have an effective curse level of 18, which could be raised to 23 via this ki ability.

Do bear in mind it's still a Curse, with attendant flaws and drawbacks.

I suppose. Honestly, I'd take curses on every character, if it was an option. The curse is my favorite part of the Oracle Class. And some of them, aside from role playing fun, actually have neat things that they do.

i would say there is no limit or else feat like spell penetration or favoured class of certain race with certain class for CL for certain effect or spell penetration will be useless at higher lvl

I don't see anything that would limit how high your oracle level can go for the purpose of the curse. I also see very few curses that would actually benefit and only one that would really gain anything (Wrecker). So yes, looks fine. You could already surpass it with just the Tengu FCB, if it didn't let you surpass 20 then they really should have included a note there.

Yeah, Wrecker is the main one I'm thinking of. Consumed is also affected (Same book...).

Covetous actually get's more debilitating if your effective oracle level is increased (though it also gives you a bonuse based on your level)...

Plus, for PFS, most characters don't get beyond 12th level, so it has advantages gaining just the 15th level feature.

Several curses (like Blackened and Haunted) grant spells known. Wouldn't allow you to cast spells you normally couldn't (due to not being able to cast any spells of that level), but if the spell isn't normally an Oracle spell, it would affect the need for UMD checks with various spell trigger items (like wands).

Anyway, thanks for the help.

My only real concern was that the Oracle itself, the class doesn't go beyond 20th level, so was unclear if the effective class level was permitted beyond this. I understand caster levels can go beyond, but unclear regarding class levels.

Doesn't sound like there's any real issue here. Good. Thanks.
