Carrion Crown homebrew.

Carrion Crown

Hi,

I have had a bit of an idea for when I run Carrion Crown.

Basically its to add mini vignette adventures to the main adventure path when the players are travelling between parts of the story, i.e between Ravengro and Lepidsatdt and between Lepidstadt and Ascanor Lodge.

The reasoning behind it (in terms of story) is that the actions of the Whispering Way have awoken other undead/evil beings due to their actions (in a similar way to e.g. their actions in Ravengro have both awoken the 5 main ghosts and others). Obviously the PCs can elect to deal with these extra menaces or not.

What do people think of this as an idea- I'm not sure from the source material whether the adventure path is suppossed to be on a timescale or not.

Any help/advice much appreciated.

Flagged for moving to Carrion Crown Adventure Path subforum.

I've GM'd Carrion Crown. The AP is on a timescale, but how strongly it's emphasized is up to the GM.

Also, both adventure paths already have side-episodes built-in between the two cities, though they aren't all undead-themed:

Spoiler:
Between Book 1 and 2, the PCs run into clowns and fight a phase spider.
Between Book 2 and 3, the PCs run into some morbid corpses.
Both these side-episodes introduce some hooks once they reach their destination, so they are relevant to the plot.

If you think additional side-episodes and undead-killing would be fun for you and your group, you should totally do it.

Hi,

Thanks for that - its really helpful. I'd forgottebn about the two encounters you'd mentioned.

It seems though that while there's a timeline there is a bit of room for maneouvre so I might use one or 2 things from my own.

Cheers
