I continue to be impressed with the guy writing Detective, although I still think the stories he's doing don't belong in that title. They should have just revived Batman Incorporated.
Rom and Micronauts have still been enjoyable, but I wish they'd stop trying to cross everything over with everything else at IDW.
The Kirby stuff has been really cool. Still haven't read it all, but I like that it's a mix of old and new stuff. I did, on a whim, pick up a big reprint of a bunch of 70's era Mister Miracle stories from Kirby himself.

I've been letting my reading slip a bit, so now I have a huge stack of books. I did work through a few things last night. Might try to get through the rest today and tomorrow.
Some thoughts:
Nightwing and Titans are a white hot mess. I think they want the new Nightwing series to be as good as the original, but in that they are pissing in the wind. Still, the reimagining has been somewhat interesting, with some solid story telling.
Titans, however, is just sad. I had no idea the only reason the real Wally West had been brought back was so Dan Didio and the other Barry worshippers could continue to rub Wally's face in s&~@, but here you go. Sad to see this happen to a character who was a pretty successful and staple part of the DCU for many years. Other than that, the story they've been dragging on with has been depressingly horrid.

I've gotten back in the habit of keeping a list of what I'm planning to collect in the future, usually going out a month or two. Over the last month or two, I'd slacked on keeping it up-to-date, but finally updated it this morning, going out to early January.
Upon a time, I would use each company's website to develop my "forecast". These days, I've gotten into the habit of using the Comixology website. It seems pretty comprehensive.
I keep lists for four brands: DC, Marvel, Darkhorse, and IDW. Of those four, DC has been adding the most to my list, and it seems that will continue for the foreseeable future.
Darkhorse and IDW have always been a bit spotty for me. So no surprise there. Looks like Darkhorse is stopping any Conan/REH stuff, which pretty much ends what I've been collecting from them. The only stuff I've been collecting regularly from IDW was ROM and Micronauts, which has been...iffy, to say the least.
Marvel, however....that's just sad. How the mighty have fallen. There schedule of releases for the next month or two looks to be a chaotic mess. There's almost nothing to hold my interest, except the oddly numbered Moon Knight stuff they've got coming out. Too bad Kevin Feige can't run the comics side as well.

Eh. I just rather wait until the Demon limited series comes out in trades. It's not doing it for me.
Titans is weird because they REALLY can't figure out why they need this and Teen Titans. That and the fact the actual villain is a kind of throwback.
I stopped reading Nightwing after Raptor joined in.

Been catching up on some more reading. Some good stuff. Some not so good stuff.....
Detective - Seriously?!? Another evil future version of another character. Maybe they should form their own club.
Flash has been entertaining, but....way too many speedsters. It's starting to resemble the TV series more and more - Every major villain has super speed, and Barry is his own worst enemy.
The Future Quest stuff continues to be cool. SPACE GHOST!!!
The Metal story is....interesting. I certainly like that each of the "Dark Knights" is an alternate version of Bruce Wayne himself. It just seems like they're always trying to capture that feeling of epicness I always get from Crisis on Infinite Earths, but always failing. Except for Kingdom Come. That one capture the feeling pretty well, I thought. Might have had something to do with Ross' art.
Daredevil seems to be getting a bit weaker, certainly with this most recent Hand story. This new one, with Mayor Fisk, seems like it could be promising, as long as they don't drag it out too long.
I've been impressed by these first two issues of Ragman. The artwork is pretty cool.
Same with the first issue of the new Deadman limited series. Although the story was a bit disjointed, I still enjoyed it. And Adams' art was pretty wicked.

A-zombie,
My guess is they're trying to tie up futures from previous runs, especially Titans and now with Tim Drake back, they needed something else.
Flash does have a speedster problem, but not 100% sure it's just because of Barry.
Metal is cool because it's kind of Heavy Metalish with some Crisis influence. I like the alternate Dark Knights...but I do agree they do miss a little point at times. But then again, not all of them can be like Red Death and Merciless.
Daredevil's new story with Mayor Fisk I think will be MUCH better than the Hand thing.

I was also thinking back on how cool the recent Captain Atom mini series was. In fact, DC has really been knocking it out of the park with their various miniseries. They had the Captain Atom one. There was a crossover with IDW doing Batman and the TMNTs (for which there is now a sequel being put out). And more recently they're putting out Mister Miracle, Deadman, The Demon, and Ragman. All of these have been very enjoyable so far.

Not exactly comics, but comics-related.....
For the most part, I love DC's animated movies. I say for the most part because they seem hell bent on trying to ruin the franchise by making movies with that little s+#*bag character Damien.
Anyway, I own a whole bunch of them. There are a few I don't own, like Wonder Woman, Batman: Gotham Knight, and Green Lantern: First Flight simply because I got rid of the DVD version and haven't replaced it with Bluray yet.
The movies themselves are awesome, but one other thing I like is some of the shorts they put with them. In particular, there was a Spectre short attached to the copy of Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. It's easily one of my favorite animated stories ever. I watched it last night, and found myself wishing they'd develop a new Spectre comic, but move away a bit from the all-powerful wrath of God Spectre to something a little more down to earth.

If I haven't already said it, I'll say it now - Cosmic Odyssey is one of the greatest comic book stories ever told. Starlin and Mignola created a f#*@ing masterpiece. A thing of beauty. I read it tonight, for the first time in several years. It's still as awesome as it was when it was published, nearly 30 years ago.
If you're a comic book fan (someone who like Batman, Superman, the New Gods, the Demon Etrigan, and a several others), but you've never read this book, do yourself a favor and find a copy.

Last week, my comic book store had a sale on back issues - 50% off. I scored big time: four issues of Gaiman's Sandman (now just missing one from the series), a single issue each from the 90s of Doctor Strange (now only 19 needed) and Danny Ketch Ghost Rider (completed the series), and two more issues of Legends of the Dark Knight (now only need 5).
WOOT!!!

I'm happy to see Marvel rebooting Doctor Strange with Mark Waid at the helm. That could be really cool. Also interested to see the new Ghost Rider series. Less interested in the new Captain America series. Even though he's one of my favorite characters, I dislike the writer. Sadly, it's similar to why I didn't collect the previous writer's run either.

Thomas Seitz wrote:Don't bet on it. He's getting a new roster of Titans to run that include Lobo's daughter. So then we know at least a couple of big wigs at DC are still running around with their heads rooted firmly in their a&#$#&~s.
I used to joke that the Avengers (Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Hawkeye, Vision, Wonder Man, Swordsman, etc., etc.) and X-Men (Magneto, Emma Frost, Deadpool, Mystique, Sabertooth, etc.) were in some sort of competition for who could have the most ex-villains on their superhero team, but the Justice League seems to be in the race, now, with Lex Luthor, Catwoman, Deathstroke, Sinestro, Captain Cold, Killer Frost, Harley Quinn and, my personal favorite, Starro the Conqueror as League members. :)
As long as they are going this route, it seems to me that they've added various Superman and Batman villains to the League (and Green Lantern, Flash and even Firestorm!), I want to see some Wonder Woman villains.
Giganta or Cheetah could use the development and page-time more than Luthor or Harley, IMO.

Honestly I'm not convinced that Mark has clear grasp on Strange. But we'll see. The new Thor series is pretty much continuing from the past one, albeit with Jane Foster not wielding Mjolnir. (I STILL don't get how Aaron could blow up that weapon using only a mere SUN!)
The new Hawkman appears to be more...multiversal than others.

Two issues into the new Thor and I like it. It's got some humor, and the art is...interesting.
Granted, I've never collected Thor before, and haven't paid attention to stuff going on in his books in forever. So I wasn't aware that he apparently lost an arm and Mjolnir.
I especially love his murder dog, goat and house boat.
