I finally painted my very first reaper Bones mini at the Reaper Paint and Take at PaizoCon and had a blast!

Unfortunately that means I know want some paints and minis and brushes and ...

Ahem ... anyone know if Reaper is planning another of their awesome Bones kickstarters?

They are. They announced there would be a Bones IV at a Con some months back... but thankfully haven't been pushing too hard on it till they completed the current one... which they are in the process of shipping RIGHT now. They are on wave 3 of at 10 I believe. In fact, my 20lb box of minis arrived yesterday and I'm still doing inventory.

I would expect them to start mentioning it again in about a month or two tops...

However one of them that they DID tease was a Baba Yaga chicken hut that looks REALLY fun to paint... ^_^

Yep, and the sample of it they had at that con was a big one too. I may never use it, but I'll probably end up getting it when the KS begins.

Liberty's Edge

I shot them a message and thier response was a new Kickstarter is coming later this year ...

I believe that the Origins pamphlet had something about Bones IV coming this Summer....so not long now :)

Liberty's Edge

Oh really? That would be cool!
Can anyone confirm that?

OK, I was being a bit coy, I have seen a copy of the pamphlet on the Reaper forums.

Edit: No, make that the facebook page: link

Liberty's Edge

Cool!

Oddly enough though, when you type in the URL shown on the Facebook page (http://www.reapermini.com/bones4) it doesn't seem to work ...

Hmmm

I've been able to get in on all three of the Bones kickstarters so far and there is some great pieces.

Personally I love the big ones; The Skeletal Dragon and Cthulhu from the first one, the Giant Kaiju from the 2nd are some of my favorites.

The Skeletal Dragon in particular is nice. The manufacturers in China misread the instructions on that one and it ended up being 50% larger than it was supposed to be.

and Mouselings....for some reason I love Mouselings

Sounds like we had the same shopping list. Those are 3 of my favorites. Except mouslings.... not really my thing, but now that I have 4 year old niece I'm thinking about picking some up.

Did you not see the Conan and Red Sonja Mouselings in Bones 3

how could that not get you

Yeah... I considered them, but with the $500 or so that I already dumped on it, I had to draw the line SOMEWHERE!! Still considering going back and getting the few things I had to pass up though...

This stuff is addicting!!!

Liberty's Edge

Any updates on when the new Kickstarter is happening?
I've seen 'spring 2017' and 'later this year' but nothing more definitive yet ...

Well since Bones 3 is still in the ocean to non-US until July, I'd expect any new KS to start after that - probably in time for/or during Gencon. Since the Reaper crew are the experts for KS's, I expect it to be well timed with other big projects around.

Sovereign Court

I'm guessing sept or Oct.

Liberty's Edge

Maybe, but there was a BIG banner at ReaperCon which said "Bones IV: Summer 2017" and Sept - Oct is definitely not summer ...

Sovereign Court

Well, Summer technically ends Sept. 22 so it could still be a ways off.

Huh, those "Minitaurs" look an awful lot like Brimorak Demons...

:D

That great big dragon in the Core set, That's based on Larry Elmore's art isn't it?

Inspired by it, I would say.

Pathfinder Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber

Troll Collection looks nice.

Kind of interested in that Chronscope one too. Space Dinosaurs and Mars Attacks martians are very tempting

Liberty's Edge

Everything's looking good so far.

Really curious just how big it will get before the end (it's only Day 2 and there are at least 30 days to go!)

Sovereign Court

I tossed in a buck. I'm not sure about the core set. I still have hundreds of unpainted fantasy minis. I do want me some of those Sci-fi minis tho! I'll add more potentially as this thing gets legs.

Grand Lodge

Look somewhat interesting so far. A lot of goblins and kobolds - those small mooks are not usually the first ones I want to paint. Trolls and wraiths look worth my painting time.

Yeah, seems to be a very sensible core box. A dragon to get in the dragon completionists, as well as a nice piece. A few smaller kobolds/goblins which are always useful & cheap & gets the number of pieces up. Whilst there's also a few interesting other ones, like the cart pulled by a pig.

I wonder if they'll be more Pathfinder pieces, since most of the iconics are done.

Sovereign Court

The core set has a good number of potential PC or NPC characters included as well as some low level enemies. Problem is I have tons of those already from Bones I-II-III. ITs a great value for folks who are just getting into bones now though.

The "high rollers" are really neat but its too novelty I think for me to drop 12 bucks on.

Chronoscope part I looks great. Part II not so much but im still interested I need me some sci-fi minis.

Liberty's Edge

I've just recently gotten into Bones painting, so I'm definitely in for the Core set at least!

Definitely NOT interested in the cutesy stuff like the High Rollers or Rocky the Red though.

I think those Chronoscope minis will be very popular with folks who will be playing Starfinder. In fact, it would be cool if Paizo and Reaper got together to do the Starfinder iconics for this Kickstarter. Heck, I would not be at all surprised if that was one of the higher goals

I'm hoping there will be a few sharks in there at some point, as well as some sahuagin!

Pathfinder Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber

I'm hoping for a Mimic stretch goal at some point.

Mimic Chest, Door, Gazebo, Piano, etc...

Sovereign Court

Mimic set would be fun. In fact, the mimic mini was one of the first Bones I painted years ago.

If they don't wind up having any mimics, I'd recommend checking out Forge Prints - they recently wrapped up delivery on a mimic-themed Kickstarter. They have smaller sets available as well.

I'm in for the core for Reaper, though like Marc I'll be skipping the cutesy stuff as well. Usually wait for the last few days before calculating the add-ons to pledge bump.

I love the 'cutesy' minis. I love rockey the red

I'll be in for some stuff for this one. My plans to actually have a place to paint the least set never happened, so they are still boxed up.

I'll be skipping lots of stuff in this one, but I figure I'll grab Rocky to paint for my wife. She likes cute little dragon things.

I specifically set aside a few hundred buck for this a month or two back so I went all in on day one.

At present I've pledged enough to get everything they have up so far. Probably won't have to start making hard choices for another week or so.

Typically I hate the cutesy things, but there is something kind of awesome about those Rockys.

The Dragon Turtle looks sweet!

Skeleton CHimera, Manticor and Owlbear

ok that's a pretty neat looking add-on

RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32

Not going to be able to jump in with both feet like with the others, but I've got $1 in to keep my options open. I'll probably get ~$50 in add-ons if finances allow.

There's some good looking stuff in there already, but I'm not suuuuper jazzed about getting the whole core set.

I'm going to be watching for this...hopeffully we get some nice sci-fi terrain options down the road. I jumped in pretty big on the first Reaper KS (still painting those), but not much since then.

Pathfinder Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber

Progress has slowed a lot, I was actually expecting the Serpent men Goal to have passed by now. Admittedly you usually see the most movement at the begining and the end but I was kind of thinking we would get 1 goal a day.

Liberty's Edge

Nah, I think after the initial rush of people jumping on board during the first couple days, we will see a steady but much slower burn for most of the remaining campaign now.

It will pick up again of course (I'm betting quite a bit) during the final few days as the big final rush hits.

Reaper has indicated they have a few surprises planned during the middle to increase excitement though ...

But, but, but... It's a widdle, ittle, bittle tiny red dragon with a tiny hoard.. Ready to lull some unsuspecting adventurer/party into meeting mama......

As long as you've got that $1 in there and supported the kickstarter, they have said they'll be leaving the pledge manager open till next july for people who want to add on and pick up extras. Anything added after Sept. 1st or 2nd doesn't help unlock any new stretch goals... but you can still fill up on whatever you want as time goes by.

Chronoscope expansion part 3 is very underwhelming. C'mon construction cones and gas cans?

Orville Redenbacher wrote:

I wasn't into chronoscope in general... but yeah, I agree with that. Rumor I heard was that they moved some stuff up from expansion 3 into 2 to get it unlocked faster.
