Traits to make fly a class skill?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I'm sure one exists, but I can't find it.

Is there a reason to have/take the skill on a race/class that doesn't get the fly skill?

If you really must have it, Wisdom in the Flesh can do it.

In our new campaign we will likely get the Mutant Template. Wings are an option.

If you have wings, you presumably have a fly speed, so you're set.

Creatures with a natural fly speed automatically get the skill as a class one GoldEdition42, it's why I asked you why you why you'd want fly class skill. "

From the fly skill: "Creatures with a fly speed treat the Fly skill as a class skill."

I missed that. Thanks for the heads up.

There's also the following sentence in the Fly skill:

Quote:
You cannot take ranks in this skill without a natural means of flight or gliding. Creatures can also take ranks in Fly if they possess a reliable means of flying every day (either through a spell or other special ability).

That doesn't necessarily mean they can make Fly a class skill unless your GM allows it, but other rules seem to point that way (for example Wizards, Summoners... classes that will eventually have reliable access to Flight spells, take Fly as Class skill straight at lv1).

I'd say, the moment a race/class has reliable access to some means of Flying, Fly skill would immediately become a class skill for them.
