Sounds like she'd be the perfect DM for Rappan Athuk. I would join the party just for the challenge. Kind of like being thrown into the arena with a tiger ... no armor, and a stick, which isn't even all that pointy anymore. A mostly-hopeless fight for survival... but if you can get the crowd on your side, you never know.

Her house rules could be that any damage over 50% of your total HP has a random chance of permanently maiming you, and that resurrection also has a high chance of triggering Baleful Polymorph.

Probably except she'd never DM a game. :-)

So if I'm reading things right Durvin Gest disappeared 350-360 years ago. I had initially thought about playing a half elven granddaughter but perhaps that needs to be great granddaughter. Also has anything been published about his descendants?

I did not see anything but then I did not look too closely at the descendants. :-)

<-- Here is my submission for consideration (Zanbabe).

I think it is fully complete, although I might review and buy some other minor equipment if I am chosen.

If I left anything out that you want to see, let me know.

Edit- Zanbabe please add me to the list. :)

How could you miss me, Zanbabe? *pout*

Sorry, Spectrum. Updated.

Koriah Azmeren was the scion I'm looking at.

I think for the "Pathfinder Society Scion Traits" I will go with Koriah Azmeren. I think Weyve would get kind of fanboy over this guy.

Quote:

Koriah Azmeren - Current Member

Koriah Azmeren, one of Varisia's most famous Pathfinders, is considered an expert on the subject of the Darklands and is a member of the Sihedron Council. Koriah's exploits were chronicled in Volume 44 of the Pathfinder Chronicles, where the confirmation of the existence of the drow was first published.

Just one thing: can anyone tell me what the "Sihedron Council" is?

Doesn't look like there is a ton about it, but there is this page.

"The Sihedron Council was formed in the Varisian city of Magnimar in 4712 AR by Pathfinder Society Venture-Captain Sheila Heidmarch. Its purpose was to decide on what to do with the pieces of the powerful Thassilonian artifact known as the Sihedron."

It also lists the other members and says that Sheila Heidmarch was the leader of it.

Okay...

Working up a

Male Skinwalker: Seascarred (were-shark ancestry)
Bard(Archeologist)/Delver Gestalt

Name: Varloo Grimtide

Ancestry Trait: Grandmaster Torch (He's still free right?)

Any Additional info out there on Grandmaster Torch?

Here is Jora "Penn" the great, great (great?) niece of Dalania Pontious. I still need to buy gear, pick out spells, and write down her backstory.

AWESOME! He's a Bard/Rogue! He's Perfect for my character idea!

Okay, last night I was sleeping in relax when suddenly I woke up screaming, covered in sweat... I had to ask Shadow!

Given the text of the Crushing Thrower talent (Equipment Sphere):

Crushing Thrower wrote:

Attacking into melee, through cover, and other situations that penalize ranged attacks incurs the standard penalties. In addition, you may apply 1-1/2 times your Strength bonus to damage if you wield the thrown weapon with two hands, and you can use the Power Attack feat with your thrown weapon attacks.

Do I get to flank if I throw my weapon in melee range with a friend on the opposite side? Does that mean I would get to Sneak Attack?

Also, the Rogue Talent option on Field Agent Training can only be taken once, but can we spend a feat to get Extra Rogue Talent? I know we don't really have the prerequisites, but thought it was worth asking.

I'll leave you to think about it while I go back to watching Count von Count's videos.

Three! Three weeks until recruitment's over! HA HA HA!

Here's Varloo's Avatar... (He'sDeadJim here!)

Just the basics so far however. He's definitely not complete!

Okay, here is my submission, Harul Safan. He's a Fighter (Lore Warden)/Delver. I was going to make an Arcanist, and then I thought, "Wow, there sure are a lot of spell casters being submitted", and decided to submit something different.

ST, I am currently using the PFS Field Guide version of the Lore Warden, as opposed to the Adventurer's Guide version, so if you want me to switch to that one, I can.

Guh damn...that would be nice...and also cheesy AF...but then most things are cheesy when you get down to RAW

Have you seen the new Bard (Juggler)? Gets a better Deflect and Snatch Arrows than the monks! (Seriously, as an immediate action at like 17th level you can send back 2/3 arrows shot at you, and deflect the last.)

The AP in PDF finally dropped today :-)

Not terribly. The Adventurer's Guide version gives up the level 2 bonus feat and the PFS version doesn't, plus the AG version offers flexibility with the replacement features. Here are the links for each of them.

Vitaliano Da Riva's Current offering. Jeanuel is Korian's elder brother but had lost contact for some time as he spent his youth traveling the world with his Father.

Hearing of the grand adventures of his sister through the tales of the Pathfinders, he came to pay his sister a visit and has been under her 'careful' tutelage to become a Pathfinder in his own right. Having roved the world with his father he has become somewhat of an expert in Ancient Azlanti deciphering.

I'll work up a lot more on the backstory and physical description

I had a character progression bit set up for up to level 4 but paizo ate it.

I'll be going Bard (Juggler)/Student of War for the rest of the build.

I'll be grabbing up Knowledges (2 to 3 a level) till I have them all covered and then taper off to just leveling Arcana and Religion as the game suggests (Apparently these are the focus for knowledges.)

Level 3 I'll pick up Slashing Grace to help make my character more combat savvy, as well as Aquatic Combatant.

I'm not sure how the class bonus works in Gestalt but if it works based off only one side of the tree then I'll tag it to Student of War and have the 3 a level situation...which will eventually allow me to tap into Bluff and Swim (I'm picking up swim level 2) every other level.

If our group is diplomatic in nature, I'll pick up a rank in Linguistics to catch Aquan at some point and hold on catching a rank of Eng, Geo, or Nobility...from my background skills section.

Hopefully that should make me very useful for the group and make a well rounded knowledge junkie follower of Desna.

More on Character Appearance, Background, and Personality to come.

Peet wrote:

Thanks! I actually go out of my way to try and pick a good picture for all of my Avatars. It helps me to develop the character as I go...looking at it gives me impressions of how they would react, or reminds me of things I thought of when I designed the character initially.

In the end I guess its just a picture really, but to my imagination it is so much more sometimes...
=)

Here's Madcaster's soulknife with the crunch for Arken, a feathery scion of Escobar Vellian. The fluff's in progress, and will be added in a couple of days.

@Storyteller Shadow

Would you consider doing a mirror Alternate Racial Trait for Tieflings that Aasimar have?

The one in question is Scion of Humanity, something like Forgotten of Humanity as the title.

Scion of Humanity: Some aasimars’ heavenly ancestry is extremely distant. An aasimar with this racial trait counts as an outsider (native) and a humanoid (human) for any effect related to race, including feat prerequisites and spells that affect humanoids. She can pass for human without using the Disguise skill. This racial trait replaces the Celestial language and alters the native subtype.

Making the Tiefling lose the free language in Abyssal or Infernal and gain the Humanoid (Human) subtype?

It would work thematically for the request of being more muted in Tiefling features?

Sure, give me a write up for it.

Forgotten of Humanity: Some tieflings’ fiendish ancestry is extremely distant. A tiefling with this racial trait counts as an outsider (native) and a humanoid (human) for any effect related to race, including feat prerequisites and spells that affect humanoids. She can pass for human without using the Disguise skill. This racial trait replaces the Abyssal or Infernal language and alters the native subtype.

Done ^_^

There is something similar already, if you prefer.

Pass for Human:
Discrimination against tieflings with horrifically fiendish features is so intense that even tieflings look up to those precious few of their kind who can pass as human. These tieflings have otherworldly features that are so subtle, they aren't often noticed unless the tiefling points them out (for example, eyes that flash red in the throes of passion, or fingernails that are naturally hard and pointed). Such a tiefling doesn't need to succeed at a Disguise check to appear to be human and count as humanoid (human) as well as outsider (native) for all purposes (such as humanoid-affecting spells like charm person or enlarge person). The tiefling does not automatically gain his associated outsider language (but may select it as a bonus language if his Intelligence score is high enough), and he may not select other racial traits that would grant him obviously fiendish features (such as the fiendish sprinter, maw or claw, prehensile tail, scaled skin, or vestigial wings alternate racial traits). This ability alters the tiefling's type, subtype, and languages.

how...have I not seen this...seriously. I was staring at the entirety of the tiefling sheet on that exact sight....SIGH....snakes and biting me in the face and all that.

It's a wee little bit rude that's its got extra caveats to it compared to Aasimar. I swear, the developers really hate Tieflings compared to Aasimar. Flavor wise they are roughly the same just polar opposites...but build wise? Tieflings are closer to the other races in power while Aasimar border monster race in ability.

Yeah, I don't get why Tieflings get all these handicaps. Most of the people, though, just wave the feat needed to pick optional heritages anyway, and I wouldn't let a player pick Scion of Humanity and then have weird physical features, even though the trait doesn't say anything (as Pass for Human does).

Aasimar's lack a pointed weakness but tieflings have more options that can be exploited or synergized. That's the reason why Pass for Human has those caveats, sense Aasimar don't have those same options. Basically Pass for Human is the same as Scion of Humanity, with extra text to make it clear you can't use their options on top. In exchange you get access to the human options, this way a tiefling's pool of options can't be stacked to a certain degree.

Still the tiefling makes out pretty good. Only loses access to 7 options while gaining access to 20+ options.

Btw you could always go with Fiendish Facade, but it will cost you a feat.

Okay. There is minimal difference at level 1, and with the Gestalt rules the difference is moot, so the changes are really easy to make.

Given how many of the PFS classes have Bardic Knowledge, Vitaliano, I suspect that a LOT of us plan to have high Knowledge skills. I know I intend to put a rank into every Knowledge skill as I level.

Lol, thanks. I'm still leaning towards possibly not taking the prehensile tail all the same. (It's semi useful to be honest and Fiendish Sorcery is just stupid tight of a racial trait.) But that ruling would make me feel better about taking Armor of the Pit at some point.

@OmniChaos Aasimar who choose the Scion of Humanity get access to all the same benefits that Tieflings get access by using Pass for Human, it's just the text for Pass for Human has a point of making you more aware of the benefits of the extra subtype.

Honestly Fiendish Facade is a slap in the face to anyone but a Fighter. Just why would you ever pick that up....~shudders~

All right, Arken's finished. I might tweak him a bit, but the core background and crunch will stay the same.

Certainly.

The Delver RAW is unclear on that point if I remember correctly and I don't think I made it any more clear, let's cap taking Rogue Talent at 2 times.

Omni, I'll add the Monk Style Feats as a choice at 1st level. However, only the Base Style may be chosen. Thereafter, Feats not Monk Bonus Feats should be used to select further Style Feats. This is because most style feats have pre-requisites that must be met and Bonus Feats generally ignore pre-requisites. I don't want to make the Monk unbalanced against the Fighters here.

Could you instead put a revision on added style feats in particular, that their prerequisites have to be met even as a bonus feat? Or restrict it to one "style line" instead?

A number of style feats, I have not read them all, have a "monk clause". Listing a monk level or class feature in their prerequisites which can be met instead. That should maintain balance and not give access to certain styles at level 1 that are meant for higher levels and such. Which seems like most. :)

P.S. Thank you Sharaya and Zanbabe for the list.

Interesting: Chronicler 2, Field Agent 4, Delver 2, Savant 2, Student of War 2. I guess I was expecting more Savants.

Anyway hopefully I'll get a chance to work on Aria's submission a bit more soon.
