PBP advice sought

So...

My pbp is fun but it's going kind of slow.

I asked for a minimum of a post a day, and I'm checking the thread three or four times a day.

Unfortunately, my five players have managed six posts between them this week.

I'm running Gallows of Madness as a PFS game.

I'd really welcome some advice, what could I do more/better/differently to get my players posting regularly?

Game is here.

I have found that sometimes games stall out at points, I am in a few games and GMing Wrath of the Righteous, it is part of the PbP nature, I am new to this really but once certain points happen things speed up.

Also Botting them helps speed things along.

Being the inexperienced GM that I am, I unintentionally did that in nearlly all of my campaigns at the same time. I could not figure out why, and then it hit me. I was not introducing enough information in my posts. So then I started making more exciting interactions (fights, etc.). Most of the campaigns are to be filled in by the GM anyway, so it is your job to make them memorable.

Also, I notice my best campaigns are ones where the players role play a lot. Encouraging role play can be frustrating when the pcs do not catch on. I will let someone more experienced than I give advice on the best way to do this.

I fully agree with DM Raltus.

These things happen in PbP games. People get busy in real life, and they don't get to post as much as they expected at the start of the game. If we're in a combat, I'll bot a PC if the player is causing the combat to drag... usually making the PC delay, Total Defend, or Aid Another.

I'm a guilty party member in this game. Coming off some work travel, so I can be more attentive.

A lot of players are too polite, not wishing to dominate the party and they wait for someone else to say what they're doing. Ending up with no one stating an action.

So be sure to give them all the information available to them, list what they can do. Then ask what are they doing? If they still don't respond start botting them. You specified a post a day. If they haven't given you any reason for their inaction then maybe they need a spur. :)
