Crafting a ring of sustenance

So I want to craft a ring of sustenance, I am doing cooperative crafting with another PC to get the spell, create food and water. But neither of us have Forge ring. based on what I've read in magic item creation
"The DC to create a magic item increases by 5 for each prerequisite the caster does not meet." Could we still create the ring of sustenance.

No. The rules state that the requisite item creation feat is mandatory.
