Whats your favorite class to play as a Halfling?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I'm curious, What is your favorite class to play, When you are a halfling? Not asking for the best, Just what you enjoy playing as a halfling.

This came from a silly idea that popped into my head earlier. You see, I like Halflings, But I'm on my second ever Pathfinder character and havent played one yet. But reading about them I love them! So I thought, Why not mae my next few future possibly comming characters all Halflings of diferent classes? And not just the classic "Sneaky rogue" types, But fighters and barbarians and casters and all sorts! xD

And so I wonder, What classes do you all enjoy playing as a halfling?

Sorry, I can't help you. Right now I'm playing Hell's Vengeance and I just keep enslaving or killing the little slips at every turn.

Like, cleric, man. Of Cayden Cailean. But we're not so much into the beer, you know? We're, like, what you might call a 'splinter sect,' man.

Rogue... that's what I've used them mostly for up to now, but if I were to play one again, I might want to try an alchemist or investigator...

Wizard. (Just for the bonded item, That One Ring).

Paladin. (Charisma. Stacking save bonuses. Archery.)

Rogue. (Because tradition.)

Most helpful in a party? Bard. Maybe Detective bard.

Most FUN? that would be barbarian... :)

best line: "I know what you're thinking... you're wondering to yourself, did he rage for six rounds, or only five? Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But being this is a 44 inch Great Ax, the most powerful hand weapon in the world and could take your head clean off in one crit, you've gotta ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?"

Detective bard. Kind of like a cross between Bard and Rogue...

All of them. There isn't a single class that isn't improved by being a Halfling.

Silver Crusade

I'm very fond of my Halfling rogue/paladin.

Scarab Sages

I've really enjoyed playing a couple of halfling druids. One was an Osirian desert druid in the Pathfinder Society. The other was a world walker druid who later took up the nature warden prestige class in a Kingmaker campaign.

Something that I haven't tried yet that looks like fun is the mouser swashbuckler archetype. Facing big opponents? Dart in underneath them and wreak havoc from below.

One class that's particularly effective for halflings is cavalier. Since their mounts are generally medium sized, they don't need any special feats to ride in dungeons and other confined spaces.

Hey! I prefer to call myself "a dog delivery system"! My mount (named "A.C.") is much better at this adventuring stuff than I am, I just keep him out of trouble and open doors for him and that sort of thing...

;)

Witch, I'd say. Or Summoner!

Is AM BARBARIAN in your party? Then Nunchucks...
No, you ARE the Nunchucks >__>

One of my all time favorite characters was a halfling in second edition AD&D. He was a fighter with the noble warrior kit (I think that was what they were called.) He was a pompous little jerk (to NPCs, not so much his people in the party) and not all that great in combat but he was a lot of fun.

Halfling Kineticist, just started one in PFS, and took Kinetic Blade to make him a melee warrior using Weapon Finesse. First fight of his career, made a Dwarven Boulder Helmet with Kinetic Blade and headbutted a River Drake, killing it. Thus begins his legend.

wizard all the way

Never played one, but after reading this thread I might have to try a Halfling Bard. The DEX bonus is useful, the STR penalty isn't that bad, since Bards don't necessarily have to be melee types, and the +1 to hit, AC, and saving throws helps keep you alive to buff the rest of the party. Plus I'm having visions of all the singing from the "Lord of the Rings" and thinking that halflings would just make great Bards.

Sorcerer/Orc-Bloodine.

I don't like or play them but this is cool.

A halfling druid could be fun to watch the little bugger transform into something big and scary.

Sovereign Court

I had a 2 barbarian/4 Rogue/10 Pathfinder(dark) delver multiclass Halfling for Serpent Skull AP. He was an absolute blast to play!

DDO Halflings:
I played Dungeons and Dragons online for a bunch of years. I had only halflings.

20 Level Bard named Pan
20 level paladin named Betsy Ross
20 level Sorc named Scorcha Sackov
Level 2 rogue/6ranger/12 barbarian named Ayn Bonnie
Level 2 monk/18 Cleric named Dadde Warbuxxx

Barbarian 100% all day long.

It is tons of fun to run around dealing 30+ damage with your 3ft tall PC. The other players will think it is hilariously funny, mostly because it is. Most fun I ever had with a PC.

Sorcerer. Lots of power in an unassuming little package. Easy to play and the racial traits lend themselves well to the class.

Pick up Silent and Still Spell metamagic feats and not much will be able to stop you from using your magic, not even if you're bound, gagged, and naked.

I wonder.. If a Halfling Brawler would work.. xD Pint sized buttkicker using his fists!

yep, barbarian. Nobody expects the halfling barbarian! Savage Technologist archetype + 3 levels of URogue lets you two-hand with dex to hit/damage, rage for extra dex and if some pesky thing can't be hulk smashed you shoot it with your buckler gun [also getting dex damage]. ;)

BARBARIAN NOT USE HALFLING AS NUNCHUCKS. THIS AM BECAUSE HAFLING HALF BE PULLED IN HALF FOR HALF-CHUCKS, OR ELSE AM TYING TWO HALFLINGS TOGETHER BY HAIR, WHICH AM LARGE SIZE WEAPON AND INVOKING -4 SIZE PENALTY.

PROPER USE FOR HALFLING, IF AM REALLY DETERMINED TO WEAPONIZE HALFLING, AM TO HAVE HALFLING ALSO BE BARBARIAN AND THEN USE HALFLING AS SPEAR.

NOTHING SAY 'FEEL TRUE WRATH OF BARBARIAN HATE MACHINE' LIKE LANCE THAT AM ACTUALLY TWFING URBAN BARBARIAN HALFLING DUAL WIELDING SPECIALIZED KATAR WITH 3 LEVELS IN UNCHAINED ROGUE FOR FINESSE POWERS WHO AM ALSO ABLE SUNDER SPELLS.

not going to ask about your interest in " bound, gagged, and naked" halflings... simply NOT GOING TO GO THERE!

I really do appreciate everything you do on these forums.

Dawnflower Dervish Bard. Go toe-to-toe in melee combat with enemies far bigger than you.

I feel like being a druid so you can ride around on your Roc really early would be fun, I just like the idea of a grumpy bird that Taxis someone round from level 1 xD

I like them as Arcanists like the iconic but then again I'm the idiot that actually likes the elemental attacking exploits. If you want a blasty Arcanist, they have a CHA bonus for extra damage, Dex and size bonus for attack bonus, size to AC, and +1 to all saves.

Sylvan bloodline sorceror with a flying size medium animal companion for airborne strafing runs with spells.
