Pathfinder Campaign using the Forgotten Realms

Lantern Lodge

Hi Folks
I'm going to be running a campaign in the Forgotten realms in the near future. I'm decently familiar with the setting in general and have all the relevant books. I was hoping the fine folks here could help me out with a couple of things:
1: any sources for forgotten realms specific material converted to Pathfinder. I don't mind doing the conversion myself but at the same time the less background conversion work I need to do, the more I can focus on campaign development.
2: any suggestions on integrating the villain codex organisations into Faerun, the sword coast in particular. I have my own ideas but alternative perspectives are always welcome.

Villain Codex organizations into Faerûn, hmm? Let's see...

The Arcane Society would probably work best in Baldur's Gate or Tethyr. There is too much oversight in Waterdeep. The Red Wizards should have a definite reaction to them, whether as rivals, a potential concern, or "look, aren't they adorable."

The Brutal Slavers can have connections to the Red Wizards or the Zhentarim. Slavery is illegal in the Sword Coast as I recall, but it's close enough to places with slavery that its conceivable PCs could run into them.

The Carnival Troupe works as written.

The Corrupt Guard and the Thieves' Guild can work in any city.

The Cruel Musketeers and Regal Court are trickier. I'd place them more inland. The Western Heartlands are big enough that one could plug a new, small-ish country there without too much fuss, and the conflict could draw in people from outside. Certainly the Harpers would be poking their noses in, if nothing else.

The Death Cult worships Myrkul. I'd put them in Waterdeep, by the City of the Dead.

The Demon Knights should be devoted to Talos. The burn-pillage-destroy flavor lends itself to him much more readily than Cyric. They can pop up anywhere.

The Diabolical Church is in service to Bane. They probably have ties to the Zhents. Maybe they got started as Banite loyalists who escaped the Cyricist purge in Darkhold after the Time of Troubles.

The Fang Monastery is really tricky, if you want to keep the flavor. They'd have to be tied to the Yuan-Ti, and they were nowhere near the Sword Coast. Maybe they are the first vanguard of a possible invasion.

The Merchant Caravan may or may not be a front for the Zhents. It's too small time for that to be likely, but that could be what makes it perfect.

The Merry Outlaws could work along any of the trade routes. The Lords Alliance should want to wipe them out, and the Harpers be more sympathetic so long as there is a chance their energies could be turned to better ends.

Nature's Scourge could focus on one of two targets: Candlekeep, or Goldenfields. The first is the bigger threat to their long term plans, but the second should make their blood boil. They'd be worshipers of Sylvanus who take an extreme hard-line view towards civilization. Maybe they were kicked out of the Emerald Enclave for violating the "neither good nor evil" requirement.

The Ruthless Brigands work as presented. They can show up anywhere.

The Savage Marauders might be from the Uthgardt tribes. That makes the most sense to me.

The Scandalous Pirates work as presented. Maybe they are too scary for the Nelanther Isles.

The Secret Society screams Waterdeep. All those nobles and wannabe nobles... as long as it keeps its head down, relatively speaking, it should be fine.

The Sinister Cult is devoted to Shar. It can pop up anywhere, but Waterdeep makes the most sense as there's a major temple of Selûne, and where there are Selunites, there are Sharrans.

The Slayers Guild worships Bhaal. Baldur's Gate for them.

Sovereign Court

Would only recommend that you focus on Pathfinder strengths. 3.5 FR while nice all and was bloated to the wazoos with prestige classes left and right. PF focuses more on archetypes and it shouldn't take too long to see an archetype matching a prestige class.

A quick examples:

Hahtran works well as Witches or Shaman class.Probably could look around for a specific archetype for them if you want.

Sun Soul Monk = Unchained Monk or Qinggong Monk since their main stick was just to shoot rays and set their fist of fire, something you can already do in pf.

Incantatrix = Arcanist class.

Etc...essentially just saying don't fall into the traps of trying to convert every PrC and the likes, same for races, since a lot of them can just be done with alternate racial traits at most.

Also would recommend to just ignore Epic stuffs, give important npc, mythic tiers and be done with it.

Excellent advice.
