Creative uses for common objects!

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Hello!
We constantly use alchemical creations and magic items to get out of sticky situations, or to solve problems, but often common items can come in handy in surprising ways.
Which are the most creative ways you or your players have used common objects in a game? Or even less common non-magical ones?

We all know the classic use of flour or chalk powder to find invisibles, but I'd like to hear more of your stories! Tell me all about them :)

Scroll tubes and scabbards with the tips cut off can be used as improvised snorkels.(did this to hide in a river until a swarm of stirges too big to kill with a fireball left, DM was caught off gaurd by the tactic.)

A ladder secured between two elevated points to make a hammock. (paranoid player wanted a more secluded spot to sleep)

Sticks from a firewood bundle tossed at the magic trap to see if it has mumtiple charges.

The snorkels were a really clever move!

Being paranoid can save you countless times ;)

Old but gold, throwing crap on traps to check them or to waste all their ammo/fuel
