Most loot

Rise of the Runelords

Just wondering without giving away any spoilers in particular. Which chapter is the most loot heavy?

Why does it matter? You still have to make it through all the books in order. The loot comes when the loot comes.

I don't think anyone can tell you EXACTLY which book has the most treasure. But in general, more risk = more reward, and hence the later books have more valuable loot.

Sounds good thanks

Strictly speaking, I'd guess Book 6, following the line of logic that higher value items come at higher levels, and the highest value items tend to be found on end bosses, so the big boss and the trials of Book 6 would have the most GP-valuable loot.

I'm curious as to what the intent of the OP's question is, though - what difference could it possibly make? Are you only playing to a certain book? Do you want to avoid loot heavy books?

my guess? the grappling druid died, because there were not that many monsters between lvl 10 -18 with low enough CMD for him and his T-Rex companion. So now he needs the loot to pay for the Belt of Giant Strength +4 for his new character

Because I am comparing the PC wealth chart to how much gold we currently have in game, and the loot is a lot less than where we would be if we were creating a new character on the PC wealth chart. That's all. I'm wondering if the loot will continue to be light or if it does eventually get better. Thanks for your responses.

<sigh>
You keep asking questions that should be directed to your game master. Does the AP follow the WBL chart? Maybe. But probably a waste of your time to try to run the math. Has your GM modified the treasure according his/her own view on how things should progress? Maybe. Might be a good idea to find out. By asking him/her. Has your group missed treasure that was available in the AP? Maybe. Want to find out? There's a thread out here where some lunatic (said with high levels of admiration) documented every copper piece available in the AP as-written. Of course it spoilers the entire AP as well.

That's definitely a question for your gamesmaster. Several things could be going on:

- Your GM just might not be aware. It's easy to lag behind on Treasure by Level in RotRL, by missing loot (eg not selling those spellbooks). Etc.

- He might have tweaked the loot with some bigger drops ahead, that fits with his way he wants the campaign to play.

- He might be withholding loot as a balance mechanism - if you have a powerful party that can be a way to reduce your power a bit. Which can save the GM a lot of work.

Remember that Treasure by Level is just a guideline, and in the end it's entirely up to your GM how he / she wants to hand out treasure.

FYI, in my campaign as GM I kept track of my players individual Treasure by Level. Then added certain extra 'drops' to encounters that were clearly suited to specific characters - and that made up the Treasure difference.
