Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

With Stephen King's long awaited Dark Tower coming to the silver screen, I'm hoping we get some more gunslinger based content for Pathfinder.

Is anyone else interested in a nice players companion for gunslingers or a proper module utilizing gunslingers in the Golarion setting?

Trailer.

I would like an expansion on content for a more gritty less magicy world.
less magicy but not high tech sorta dealio I mean...

Gunslinger stuff, alchemy stuff, sorta deal. Though that won't really ever happen.

Though honestly that guy is far better at his job than a PF version could do very easily.

actually...there is a player companion that meets everything you just mention. its called Pathfinder Player Companion: People of the Wastes (PFRPG), which comes out in November. i'm personally hyped for it myself since i feel we need more firearm/none magical alchemy support in pathfinder.

Player Companions are NEVER as good as they sound. I wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket. :-)

My main worry with such a thing is that gunslingers are very difficult to balance (with regards to their damage output) compared to many other classes.

Gunslinger is basically an optimized archer that gets dex to damage and attacks touch AC within the first increment. If you go musket master for the reload speed you also get a pretty good first range increment. If you go TWF route with pistols you run into some problems reloading, and your touch range is short but you absolutely decimate everything.

If options were added I would prefer to see it be something that doesn't add more ability with guns, but expands the class to do skills or other interesting and unique things well.

Unfortunately, usually what is well liked are things that do more damage. If the class sacrifices damage people will complain and no one (or very few people) will use the archetype. So it's a difficult problem.
