Hi Pathfinders,
So this conversation has gotten purely academic [And so is not a matter of balance but of RAW].
If your campaign allows off-slot crafting, can you wear two robes of arcane heritage [one in an off slot] and do their effects stack? Ie. Your sorcerer level is counted as 8 higher for the purpose of determining bloodline abilities.
Is there anything as RAW that says these don't stack?

Typically, bonuses don't stack, and you'd only take the 'better' of the two (or just one, if the bonuses are equal). For that matter, I don't see anything in the item's text that would imply it stacks. Two instances of "treat your level as 4 higher" don't automatically combine into "treat your level as 8 higher". It just means you have two things providing that benefit - so if you lost one, the effect would still be present from the other item.

Since off-slot generally isn't supposed to happen, I think the closest you'll get is "Bonuses without a type always stack, unless they are from the same source."
Items with the same name are generally considered to be the same source, even if they're separate items. If you renamed the item, I suppose you'd technically be able to skirt around that rule... but I'd also think that's a clear case where the GM should intervene and not allow it, because it's clearly not meant to happen. XD

1) The robe says four levels higher than normal. That implies that it wouldn't stack. You don't get +4 to your level, it is only 4 higher than normal.
2) It only works with bloodline powers and considering the 50% increase in cost, that's 40k gold to get your powers 8 level higher. I'd say that night be a fair item considering it also takes up two slots.

50% increase in cost? Is that for being in an "inappropriate" slot? If so, I think that's a 3.5 rule that didn't make it into PF. If not, I'm confused.
