Draconic Ally - What abilities are gained?

Rules Questions

This is a spell from the "Legacy of Dragons" book.

It states in part that the pseudo-dragon ally summoned gains the "abilities" associated with a "Form of the Dragon" chosen by the caster.

So, what exactly is meant by "abilities?"

The wording of Draconic Ally could have stated "the Ally is assumed to be _affected by_ the "Form of the Dragon" spell, in which case things like Size, state increases and attacks would easily be applied.

Could someone give an example of an appropriately applied Draconic Ally?

In trying to answer this question I ran into this:
If you look at the upgraded form of the spells II and III, the size change bonus' are listed under the Abilities gained.

(Mwahahahaha lesser thread necro!)

Thanks for that! It's a weird inconsistency, but lends credence to the concept that the wording should really be "affected by"
