Bashing and Impact on a shield?

Rules Questions

Can you combine the two enchantments to have a shield deal damage as if it were 3 times larger?

And do either of these work with spiked shields, or is that totally different?

Scarab Sages

Virtual Size increases do not stack. By RAW bashing, impact, and shield spikes are all virtual size increases.

There is a FAQ confirming this, and several hundred pages of debate.

Even shield spikes are virtual size increases? That seems really odd considering it is a different item with an increased gold cost and even different damage typing.

Anything that causes an weapon to strike as if it were larger without actually making it larger counts as a "virtual size increase."

Those do not stack.

You can have one virtual size increase and one actual size increase, but not multiples of either one.

Scarab Sages

Hence the hundreds of pages of debate. Personally, I feel shield spikes should not be a virtual size increase, and should be a separate weapon. But because the description of shield spikes uses the magic words "as if one size larger" they are virtual size increase per the book.

Doesn't stack, even spikes, and the FAQ is clear. Debate may rage on over opinion but the rules are clear.

Haza! Shield spikes and the Bashing enchantment do the same thing! But in your games it need not be that way!

I suppose, but I prefer to be as rules legal as possible since the other GM is very strict on rules.

The main problem is that when you start getting to get lots of size increases, you break the game (Which DreamScarredPress seems to love). A Half-Giant(1) Warder uses Iron Tortoise Style(1), a Spiked (1) Bashing(2)/Impact(1) Heavy Shield, in Elemental Nimbus Stance (2 at level 10) and suddenly you have a 12d6 shield if I did my maths right.

12d6 for 1 feat and 9k gold.

A link to the FAQ that everyone is referencing.

PDT Post stating that Shield Spikes are an Effective Size Increase.

Sczarni

In a homegame I would allow someone to enchant Impact onto their Shield Spike, effectively allowing the same two steps of damage dice increase that Bashing gives on its own.

But that's just a houserule I find reasonable. If this is for PFS, the linked FAQs are sufficient.

Bit of a necro.....

Do size increases increase the size of creatures affected by combat maneuvers.?

Can I shield slam and bullrush a huge creature? Normally bullrush and overrun are only effective against creatures one size larger or smaller

Only an actual size increase would change what you could bullrush.
