Recently it was brought to my attention that you no longer need to be Evil aligned to be an assassin PrC but can be Neutral Aligned. I was looking around for anything to confirm this but I am coming up empty, if anyone knows of anything tht can confirm this or deny this please let me know, last I knew they had to be evil, and is not legal for PFS play. Thanks

Scarab Sages

I once met a guy who had a unique Boon allowing him to play a non-Evil Assassin in Pathfinder Society. He said Mike Brock (the former Big Cheese of Organized Play) contacted him personally and said they were never planning on giving such a thing out again.

That kind of implies you misheard or were misinformed.

Of course, who needs to be an Assassin when any alignment can play a Slayer *grumblegrumble...* :P

It's true, Slayer is just a straight up better class than prestiging into assassin.

I think that's unfair, but you're entitled to have a differing opinion.

I think a couple years had Charity boon Gencon for Assassin PC.

Don't worry- not all of us have such low opinions of toothpicks.

I believe it was the 2013 or 2014 Gen Con charity auction that had a unique boon that allowed a character to take the assassin prestige class, requiring only a non-good alignment. The boon also calls out that despite the loosened alignment restriction, the PC is still bound to the No Evil restrictions of the organized play campaign and is ultimately responsible for how he or she uses the class abilities.
