Honaire Card: putting undead trait on an item?

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

Hey guys,

So Honaire card says: "put this card on top of your deck to add 1d10 and the Undead trait to your Strength, Con or Perception check."

So our character was trying to acquire a weapon on a strength check and used this card to get that d10.

Our Q is can u put the undead trait on an item?

Ben

It doesn't matter what the check is for - defeating a bane, acquiring a boon, some other check (like closing a location) - you can add 1d10 and the Undead trait to the Str, Con, or Per check. So yes, you can add the trait to your check to acquire an item (or augment an item with Honaire for a Str, Con, or Per check).

Where the heck is Hawkmoon? He let a rules question go for over an hour, letting the B team take a crack at the answer.

Panic? No news from the AI? Hawkrobot on strike?
Seriously, Brother Tyler is right. I would just add that Honaire doesn't add a trait to an item, he merely adds the trait to the check to aquire the item. Not the same thing.

There's no B team. We are all part of the A-Team together. I picture Vic as Hannibal, Mike as Mr. T, Chad as Face, and the community at large as Murdoch.

The next person after Vic and Mike that springs to my mind in terms of forum activity is Keith.

Oops. Yeah I actually meant to say Keith, but wrote Chad instead. I guess it is kind of like how Dirk Benedict wasn't Face in the pilot. That way they can share the role together. I hesitate to associate any of them with the 2010 film version.

It's cool. Face's power is in convincing you of stuff in the moment, not necessarily remembering his name later ;)
