Wyvern Animal Companion

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

It wasn't too long ago I was browsing through the SRD that I found a page specially crafted for Wyverns as animal companions, but not quite. It said something along the lines of wyverns being too proud to take such a title and instead they'd take on charges, making your character a ward of the Wyvern. I can't remember if it was 3rd party or not but now I can't find the page at all, anyone else know what I'm talking about?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

srd link to drake companion

They're not very good, and I think only certain archetypes can have one.

That's perfectly alright! Thank you I thought I was going crazy for a moment

You'd be better off doing a sommoner since you can make an actual dragon you can ride with that

It was actually for drakes the distinction is that drakes are like dumb dragons that have some of their abilities.... Thus there proud as all getout and will refuse armor and such im about to pretty much ask my dm if i can work with him into stating a wyvern animal companion since you can get a behir and or a roc

All you need to do to make Drakes work VERY well is invest in magical tattoos and use the spell Transfer Tattoo to 'give' the Drake the tattoo after you've created it. Better yet, learn to tattoo yourself and mark up the whole party!
