This is Changeling Sound Striker build for a new campaign we are starting next week. Will be the party face and backup for the knowledge skills. Sound Striker and sonic spells for attacking, since almost nothing has resistance to sonic damage (plus I just don't see them used all that often). Taking VMC of sorcerer with the accursed bloodline to fly with the changeling/hag theme.

I'd like some critique of the basic concept, where do you think it should go from here, what spells known should I pick, and what few feats should I take?

Weird Words is potentially costly in rounds of bardic performance. Not just by itself, but because you might start Inspire Courage as a move action immediately after. You might want Extra Perfomance (Lingering won't help). A lot of sonic spells (not all) are in the evocation school, if you take Spell Focus that's likely the one you'll want.

The Accursed bloodline powers are mostly not good. The dread gaze isn't bad but you get it at 15th level. I'd reconsider sacrificing your feats for this.

There are a few alternate racial traits for changelings, and you might consider Hag Magic (Agents of Evil version not Inner Sea Races), and/or Witchborn (Inner Sea Races).

Consider picking up Biting Words. It's a first level bard spell that let's you do a number of Sonic ranged touch attacks at 1d6 + Cha. Given your stats it'll be a good way to turn a single spell into s full combat of actions (1 touch per level) and give you a cleaner way to feel like a sound striker before you're actually a sound striker. It is language dependent though, so keep that in mind.

You don't have to worry about doing an Inspire Courage after doing Weird Words burning too many rounds, you can't.

Granted there is a loud vocal minority saying you can and saying James Jacobs isn't a rules guy.

Biting Words does physical damage: Bludgeoning, Slashing, Piercing--your choice. It does NOT do Sonic damage like the errata'd Weirdwords. The Words spell does what the original Weirdwords once did.

Ok, I think you are correct. I will drop the VMC sorc accursed. I was mostly considering it to further the Hag concept. But it really doesn't give much that is useful.

I will take either the Spell Focus Evocation or Spell Penetration next. I'm not sure if high saves or SR will be more common in this campaign since it is a home made world.

I will check out Biting Words and those other racial traits.

Any other suggestions?
