Split trick (trick) feat

Rules Questions

When this ability says that it works in all ways like having tricks on both targets, does that include counting as two tricks implanted at one time? Or just that its taking up the one trick someone else can have in their brain? If the first one the trick doesn't seem to do anything.

Whenever you implant a mesmerist trick in a target, you can designate that trick as a split trick. When doing so, you touch two targets and split the trick between them. This counts as implanting a mesmerist trick in both targets. The mesmerist trick functions as normal, except that when the trick’s triggering condition occurs, you must choose one of the split trick’s targets to receive the effects of the split trick. The other target receives no benefit from the trick.

It does not state that it takes multiple uses of your mesmerist tricks ability (as Bouncing Trick does), so it does not. It just counts as both of them having tricks for the purposes of whether you can implant additional tricks in them or not.

not requiring manyfold tricks as a prerequisite is giving me that impression as well.
