Exploiter Wizard Q

Has there ever been official clarification on how archetypes that get features from other classes should replace references with the class the feature is coming from with the new class?

Specifically, Exploiter Wizard gets Arcane Reservoir from Arcanist.

Quote:
In addition, the arcanist can expend 1 point from her arcane reservoir as a free action whenever she casts an arcanist spell. If she does, she can choose to increase the caster level by 1 or increase the spell’s DC by 1.

It seems pretty clear that an Exploiter can bump the save of their Wizard spells with Arcane Reservoir. I'm wondering if there's anything official? Does anyone think it should work differently?

There is nothing official and in fact I've gotten conflicting opinions on this from the developers (at one time being told that arcane reservoir does work and at another time being told that Daring Champion cavaliers get no benefit from precise strike because they aren't swashbucklers).

It probably SHOULD work though.

When a class ability says "blah spell", it means a spell from that class's spell slots.

For example, magus has a FAQ that confirms "cast a magus spell" mean a spell known to the magus from magus spell slots.

If you gain an ability for your class from another class, you should consider the class name renamed to your class.

YMMV, ask your GM. Especially considering there is dev disagreement on this subject.

The biggest counter to this view is that a magus counts as a lv0 swashbuckler when you gain panache, since it doesn't say to use your level as swash level.

Is that a counter? As there is no such thing of L0 swashbuckler. It has to count as your level, if it has a swashbuckler ability with no language to tell you the effective swashbuckler level.
