I shouldn't have answered anyway. I don't think before posting.
I guess this thread is now about pancakes.

It's been awhile since I've had pancakes, gotta have the right syrup otherwise my tummy gets upset -_-

I haven't had pancakes in ages.

Funny pancake story: in college a friend made pancakes with no real idea how to (from an instant mix obviously). She literally burned one pancake into the pan, leaving a black disc shape in the metal of the pan that would not scrub out. If that pan is still in the dorm kitchenette, I would bet it still has a black circle in it.

Pancakes can't compare to turtle boobies. Which is still up.

Pancakes...haven't had those in forever. Had Yorkshire Pudding last night though, and that was pretty good.

I prefer the thin European variant with Peanutbutter!

Blueberry pancakes are good. Topped with blackberries and syrup.

Why are we talking about pancakes when waffles are obviously superior?

I think the pan may have been too hot. Plus, the scorch marks may come out by using steel wool.

We seem to have inherited this thread from a spammer. Seems a waste not to use it. Waffles are also good, but you need specialized equipment to make. Not everyone has a waffle iron. :)

Waffles are very good. But what is actually the difference between them and pancakes? Besides the obvious one has squares in it to fill with buttery syrup goodness.
Is the batter the same as pancake? Some people say it is but waffles taste fking amazing compared to pancakes... what do you think

Spam is good on waffles. Not so much on pancakes. And it's terrific on sushi

Pancakes get my vote. Although waffles are not a horrible thing either, especially with copious quantities of melted butter to fill those little squares

If I remember correctly Waffle batter has egg in it, while Pancake batter doesn't.

The egg white is folded in separately from the yolk in Waffles.

Both definitely have eggs though. :-)

Having buttermilk pancakes tonight.

Something about 6-9 inches of snow and comfort food. :-)

I went to IHOP last weekend and ate a lot of pancakes.

There's one in Pittsburgh now.

I figured IHOPs would be everywhere! What we DON'T have here in Arkansas (and it makes me sad) are Jack in the Box and Five Guys Burgers.

I guess that the marketing department decides what goes where, and when.

This was back when 3rd edition first came out, so it's not likely to matter much anymore. :P

But still, it's good to know, for later.

Here pancakes are not very popular but I love cooking them! Waffles are OK but pancakes are delicious!
Crepes are great too. Here in Galicia we have a traditional recipe that is a variant of crepe and I love it! (There is also a variant made with pork blood, WTF!)

I'm not big on waffle or pancakes (If I have to chocolate chips and whip cream) But I do like a good Crepe. Crepe's with nutella and banana are very acceptable.

Crepes with mushrooms, ham, eggs and cheese. Yum.

Hmm intriguing what kind of cheese?

My preference is for chocolate brownie waffles. Take brownie mix. Follow directions. Put it into waffle iron. Cover in death by chocolate icecream and serve. Die from sweet sweet chocolate.

Dunno really. Anything not blue cheese or the like prolly works.

You are but aren't missing out on Five Guys. It's really just like the burger you'd make at home. Big and tasty. The fries though...a normal order of fries can feed my sister and I. I was starving last time I got there and ordered the large fries. I think we started a potato shortage with all the fries we got!

I really like blue cheese. I have a delicious recipe for a blue cheese sauce that goes great with pasta or meat.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Not on crepe however unless the other ingredients were able to make it work.

With uhmm... I think the closest word I can think of is ratatouille. Combined with blue cheese and ricotta.

Hmmmmm...Brownies.
Next on my to do list: darkest chocolate brownie with berries and white chocolate chips! Personal favorite and it's been a long time since I baked my last brownie.

I take note for trying this recipe. Looks delicious.

Here is the recipe for the Galician crepes (filloas) I mentioned. Not the blood ones, I admit I have never tried the ones that are made with blood.

Anything ending in «nuts» seems to fit a brownie! I'm thinking of trying it with chestnuts and a bit of chestnut flour, but I'm waiting until autumn so I can pick the chestnuts myself and I don't have to pay for them and they are more fresh.

Swedish pancakes with Lingonberry jam (sp?).

Drops Mic.

So many things I want to try now. I love cooking this stuff more than eating it, so I have to be a GM so I can have people at my home to feed them sweet things xD
