Tired making sesame chicken. did not turn out well. needed more sauce then what the recipe made. I also found a jar of szechuan sauce. Tried it. That was not bad kind of spicy. the bean paste flavor was a bit to storng and I expected it to be sweeter but overall solid very tasty.

25th July is the day for Galicia's regional patron, which is probably the biggest regional holiday. Working at emergency lab, I have to work tomorrow so we are having the family meal with Dal's family today (they do the meal a couple of days).
So today I expect to have some good seafood and a lot of savory pastries!

I also managed another update of my campaign journal, which is kinda abandoned because I have been focusing a lot on my drawings lately. But today I made a big update and I am almost finishing the 4th book, so I am still there!

I have to try that.

For some reason I only notice typos once its to late and someone has quoted me.

Maybe you are tired after cooking. It often gappens to me. Specially when I am baking heavy bread or brioches.

Aye my focus and memory have been shot ever since I started third shift hours anyways.

You get used to 3rd shift, Vid. Best advice I can give with my 6 years of experience:

1) Switch the am and pm. You tell yourself you're due at work at e.g. 10 in the morning, even if everyone else is thinking 10 pm.

2) Switch your meals. First meal of the day is breakfast food, last is dinner food.

3) Give yourself a couple weeks to adjust. Some people take longer than others.

I do the first one already.

Well I've done it for awhile now. I don't do the swap breakfast and dinner thing. although I do avoid sugary things for my last meal of the day (HA I figured out how to put it so it wasn't confusing)

I've had a lot of time to adjust I just don't feel that i'm as aware as I used to be. I guess I could just be getting old.

Sorry, can't help the getting old part. I didn't mention what to eat too much, as sugary stuff doesn't give me an energy spike. Caffeine is normal for me, so same deal. I just try to avoid a big meal unless I really need to sleep, then it's time for a lot of protein!

Well if you do figure something out for the getting old part do let me know.

I have a suggestion...

Are you suggesting I become a small fleshy pink fruit?

Apparently it was a touchy subject...

Yeah... that Sounds horrific.

That's an amazing character! Thanks!!!

I'll try to get a couple others knocked out this week, don't work until saturday. :-)

Plus occult + mythic equals fun building!

Might make a Kineticist lich too, if only to see if overwhelming soul sucks as much on paper as it looks like. :-)

Don't worry about the Kineticist. I haven't yet figured out how to run one. My brain doesn't process info like it used to (thank you depression and anxiety plus the meds that go along with them) and I've never really understood the mechanics behind them.

By the by, according to hero labs he's a healthy CR 17, but i'd like to think he's so much more then that. :-)

LOL he is pretty daunting, for sure!

Hey, everyone. Just posting to let everyone know that I'm still around. I was just very busy yesterday. Got about a half hour 'til the library closes. Will post tomorrow if there's time.

Hope you and your mom are doing well.

Doing alright. Got a phone number for a vocational rehab facility, so that I can train for a job that doesn't require a lot of depth perception. Unless they can certify me for being a programmer. Well, one can always hope, right?

Once again, the Library's A/C is getting the better of me. Leaving an hour early. See everyone tomorrow.

Good to hear.

Really hope, you can find a way to get the foot in the door as a Programmer. Seen enough of you comment around here to know, that's something you really burn for.

Been good at it since High School.

Maybe for variety you should do the Green Lantern's oath once in a while?

Or on a bad day the red lantern oath.

Looks around. Sees an empty room. Begins watching Youtube videos.

I'd have been here had I not been running errands!

Welcome back.

Thanks!

I'm pretty jazzed, a friend preordered me the upcoming Cthulhu Mythos for Pathfinder.

That's great to hear.

It's evening, now. I'm tired, and stiff from sitting all afternoon. I'll post tomorrow. Good night, everyone.

Good afternoon, everybody. Sorry I haven't been online for the past couple of days. I've just been very busy.

Hope things are going well, John. :)

So last night I made homemade mac and cheese (not from a box) like my grandma used to make for us when I was a kid. And after months of turning up his nose at the very mention of mac and cheese, the kidlet decided he liked it after all. Especially since I suggested stirring in some crushed red pepper. He loves his spicy food.
Hopefully tonight will also please the picky kidlet. I'm making pesto burgers. Ground pork mixed with pesto wrapped around a slice of mozzarella and cooked on a griddle. It makes a cheesy gooey mess, but usually a delicious one.

So, I kept hearing about this apple farm, not but five minutes from the people I'm currently staying with, and I finally went out there. Everyone raves about their apple donuts, and so I got some, but the more important gems found on this trip, (the donuts ARE good, but not as much as the hype had me believing, fortunately, hype failure rarely makes me hate, so still enjoyed) was the sarsaparilla, raw honey, (<---it is VERY good) and that they will be making there own apple cider (which is always better, the fresher you get it!)

Nice, game hamster. We have a place like that near us and it's something I look forward to every year :)

I'm having a 11-12 oz, steak (its been in a marinade made out of red wine, garlic, pepper corns, chili, barbecue sauce and lemon grass since this morning)

I'll be making baked potatoes, smeared in a mix of olive oil, garlic, rosemary and crushed pepper corns.
When there's about 10-15 min left of their baking time, they will get their last layer of oil, and I'll sprinkle som finely crushed (un-salted) peanuts, cashews and pistachio nuts on them.

This will be served with, my attempt at a home-made whiskey-like sauce (butter, cream, whiskey, ketchup + tomato purre, rosemary, thyme, a spoon full of barbeque sauce or some balsamico (I guess? haven't decided), salt + sugar + crushed pepper corns until it tastes right).

Pesto burgers were deemed acceptable by the picky kidlet, but only if I don't make them very often. XD

Tweaked my stirfry recipe with brown rice to add some bulk and more hot peppers into the mix. The hot peppers were ok, but just barely. There is a fine line in capsaicin one can have in a dish.

The brown rice worked well as an admixture, and helped me stretch the meal to the entire workweek. I put in about 70 hours this week, so it was good to have it on hand.

I'm going to have to use up my green, sweet, and hot pepper supplies before I hit the road. Oh and brew a new kombucha before I go. Can't let my poor kombucha mother sit in vinegaring matrix for a week.
