Wasn't really planning on it, but then I found this bottle looking all alone and sad, at the back of the cupbord.

And well, the flesh is weak, even if the spirit is strong...

So I might be slightly tipsy.

Just had a 75cl bottle of La Trappe Quadrupel (Dutch Trappist - It isn't Rochefort but it's still pretty damn good)

So Kile, Cap and whoever else is out there anything interesting happened this evening/day?

*Looks at Tori and Kile repeatedly*

So when were you gonna tell me you had a twin, Kile?

Just the usual. Freehold is on another Math-hate rampage over in Deep 6, and is trying to set fire to the thread.

Seen it John ^^

Math was never something, I was very good at, so I kind of stayed out the fray over there.

How about you? Thing back to normal yet, or are you still dealing with the weekends problems?

Thanks to some help from Syrus, I'm pretty well set for next week. While I initially resisted the help because I didn't want to feel I was being a burden to my friends, Syrus pointed out that accepting help isn't the same as being a burden. And with Mechapoet telling me the exact same thing, I gave in. I've got enough to work with until my next payday. Thank you for asking, though. :)

I was refering to the "new twin" discovery

Hehe...Sorry, as I said a bit tipsy ^^

and silly, although two Kile's does give me a nice tingly feeling, or maybe that's just the beer talking (I hope not though).

not a problem, I probably wasn't very clear.

That's fantastic John.

It shows, that humanity should still be judged by its component parts, and not as a whole.

And yes accepting help from those who offer it, isn't burdening them. They, themselves should be the ones to tell you, if your seeking help from them, would put them in a position of stress, discomfort or hurt.
Most people won't offer to help someone, unless they are confident in having the energy, resources or frame of mind, to help out and still be able to do, their everyday tasks and duties.

Thanks, Kjel. Once again, let me state how glad I am to have made some really great friends here on the 'boards. You guys are the best. :)

The best thing of my day was getting that pretty long contract! But it was a pretty good day too.

I'll be going to sleep soon. Still not sleepy but tomorrow I might not be able to be awake if I don't.

Well sleep well then, when you get that far.

And yes knowing that you have something to wake up fore, each day is a nice thing.
It really helps keeping ennui at bay, but you seem to be pretty good at doing that, in the first place.

*Hugs and snuggles for Kile*

*Delivers a delayed hug*

Good morning, everybody! Yesterday I got an emergency call to work today in the morning so I have more job, which means good news. Packing my sandwich for breakfast right now.

And I'm glad that you have some nice friends to help! When you really need them is when you know who are your friends.

So very true. And I thank God for each and every one of you. Having so many unexpected friends has made this almost 50-year-old very happy. :)

Well, these boards are a very friendly place, and there are many good people here. I have only been here for less than a year but I have found very nice people here that are friends to me.

Also: Damned birds! They have decorated my car! My fault for parking under a tree...

I'm going to make them clean my car!!!

Hey, I was fighting for fish heads at the harbor. Don't blame me!

Wasn't me either!

You seem to be trying to find, and demand restitution from, some birds who defecated on your car. Would you like some help with that?

*Looks at Clippy*
I'd rather had some help on cleaning my car... but I'm pretty unsure of how much help can I get from uh... a clip that for some reason looks like a reptile.

I dunno. I never found the clippy program helpful either.

Airports. The Purgatory of travel ...

Hospital's cafeteria. The Purgatory of food.

I liked my hospital's cafeteria. But, I knew all the cooks, and the hospital gave a 'staff only' permanent discount so you could get a fresh-made BLT or a cheeseburger for $1.50. That's a hard price to beat on Cape Cod.

I got a vegetable sandwich with real bread for €1.20 and a tea for €0.8 because we also get a discount. It's not that bad but most of the dishes are frozen and it's easily noticeable. The pizza is also awful, with a terribly hard crust and unsavory cheese.

Today I brought my own sandwich from home (saving money you know) but I got a tapa of pasta salad with my tea... I just cannot stand processed mayo.

Btw, do you work in a hospital too?

Eating right now.

Sandwich - toasted bread, ham and a bit of cheese.

Helping vet medicate horses - giving deworming meds and getting dagger-stares back from the horses.

Haven't still eaten. Seeing this post after not checking my phone for about 3 hours. Hungry. Wanting to steal your sandwich.

I did until very recently. I was security. Now I just work my other two jobs.

I'm eating a homemade nut mix. I'm glad I brought snack with me. The airport prices are entirely insane :/

I bought some guac for a snack in class today...
It isn't very good guac, so I am disappointed

My sandwich wasn't great either. Just some whole wheat bread with some ham and apple bizarre cream I found in the mart and caught my attention. At 6 AM I didn't feel like preparing anything more complex.

Now I'm eating some rice salad that I prepared yesterday, knowing that today I wouldn't feel like cooking after work.

I'm going to make a cheesecake today.

I made red beans and rice last night. Of course the beans, rice, and seasonings came from a box, but I added some smoked sausage and green Tabasco sauce to it to give it a little more flavor.

Today is the 40th Anniversary of the Theatrical Release of Star Wars Episode IV. Happy Birthday. :)

Today I bought some cheese that was on sale (50% discount!) to replace the last cheesecake I made with Cebreiro cheese.

What recipe do you use for your cheesecake?

Over here, Cheesecake is typically made with Philadelphia Brand Cream Cheese.

There's slightly more variation here in cheesehead land, but yes generally it is.

I hadn't decided on a recipe yet, got some cookbooks i was gonna go through. Just have a hankering to make a cheesecake. :-)

Lunch will be at the Philadelphia airport for me today...

Here Philadelphia Cheese is the most common too.

I use (beware metric system!)
350g cheese
500mL cream
100g sugar (I've started using brown sugar)
4 sheets of gelatin

Crumbled cookies and butter for the base

Jam for covering it.

To make everything mix better I heat the ingredients to mix them until everything is creamy.

I like it because it's very easy to do and makes a good result.

I want cheesecake really badly now.

I've been wanting ice cream since last month. Next week I am buying cream and making vanilla ice cream.

And, for a bit of history, there's this.

Uhhh...homemade ice cream.
There is a venture, I haven't attempted yet, might be worth a try as my grandmother, used to make the most divine home made ice cream.

Tonight later dinner (yes I fell asleep again...in the afternoon no less):

Leftover Beef cuts, from make streaks, and my last little bit of smoked bacon (diced) - pan fried with teriyaki sauce, 3 kinds of curry, cream, peppercorns and a pinch of salt and sugar/honey.
Diced bell peppers, tomatoes (since I apparent gotten some that go bad quickly), garlic and fresh coriander.
Large helping of boiled wild rice.

Delicious!!!
I usually get tomatoes that go bad quickly, but as I love homemade tomato sauce I have a good solution for that.

Tomorrow I'm going to make gyros with the Greek spices I bought last week. It is my first attempt on Greek food but it doesn't seem difficult.

Sounds good.

Making lamb gyros? or are you substituting the lamb with something else? (I think, I remember you talking about, how you didn't like lamb that much...)

I'm using pork in this case. I don't like lamb a lot so I went to the grocery and just looked for some good and cheap substitute.

I had doubt of using pork, chicken or turkey but pork was cheaper and I am going through some difficulties right now.

It would probably do fine as a substitute.

That's sounds troubling.

Anything that you want to talk about or need help solving?

Pork should be a good substitute. Don't use a cut that has too much fat, or else the Pita bread will get soggy.

I didn't make a cheesecake, it turns out I way overestimated my motivation to get things done today.

Maybe tomorrow.

Nah, it's just about money. And I just have to cut some spending until July that I'm getting a kinda big payment. But for now I am being very conservative with money and not spending on anything that is not absolutely necessary.

About the pork, I bought some loin. Loin and tenderloin are some of my favorite pork cuts.
