Solar Bloodline - Qadira Campaign Setting - What's it good at?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Ive been waiting for a solar/sunlight themed bloodline since I started playing pathfinder, and with the latest campaign settling it sounds like that's happened.

I havn't yet got the book, but I'd like to know what peoples opinions of it are.

So is there anything really special about the bloodline, anything that it excels at, and does it lean toward building a certain way?

you'll probably have to wait until more ppl have it, but I'll def give you my opinions when I've looked at it in a few days

It's not bad, kinda like a cleric sorcerer. Nice spells. Nice +1 damage per die arcana.

The +1 damage per die is only on fire spells, unfortunately. The bloodline spells are intriguing but I cannot remember them all. The most notable is the 1st level spell gained at 3rd level: Searing light! Yes, you read correctly. The Solar bloodline grants this as a 1st level spell. Awesome. The also get Sunbeam at 14th or so...cannot recall.
This is now my favorite sorc bloodline.

Sorry to Necro but does anyone have a copy of the Solar Bloodline or a link to it? I would like to read the bloodline before I potentially buy the book

Silver Crusade

It's not up on any of the sites yet. It's a pretty good Bloodline, get bonuses to your healing when you're in contact with fire and Channel, and Fourshadow pointed out some of the cools spells :3

No problem, I look forward to it appearing soon then :)

Silver Crusade

The rest of the book is a treat as well, I especially love the Witch archetype :3

I am guilty of buying the book just for this and the Solar Bloodline...but the rest of the book is a very good read. My Andoren Sound Striker Bard now wants to visit Qadira--never was interested before this book.

Silver Crusade

Is good book ^w^

Dhampyr > Sorcerer > Solar bloodline

This may be a "horrible" idea, but I'm curious about trying out a character build for dramatic backstory purposes. But how would be the correct way to "statistically play this" character?

Would the light sensitivity conflict with this, or would the predisposition to the Solar bloodline (Sunsight) negate the racial hinderance? I'm trying to have a good idea of how this "could work" prior to approaching my GM about wanting to role this.

The backstory idea is to have a Dhampyr that so resents his heritage, that he searches out the one thing that harms the thing that he is. Finding the Sungoddess, he devotes himself to her, and has slowly found ways to be "better than his heritage allows"... Kind of an "ultimate day walker" type character.

Any thoughts? Good or bad. This is still in the early idea stages, but I'm extremely curious since I'm very much new to Pathfinder, and would like some experienced thoughts on this.

Thanks all

That combination should work, especially since there is nothing in the racial description of light sensitivity saying that no other ability can negate it.

However, light sensitivity is not a dhampir's worst problem -- negative energy affinity is.
